Hi everyone, last night when I attended the Eagles vs Rocks game due to the person I usually go with being unavailable I ended up taking someone else who had never been to the BBL game before.
They had no idea what to expect but they loved it and even turned round to me and said "I see why you love coming here" as they got proper into the game. In a way it was quite surreal watching someone getting their first taste of of the BBL and fan experience and they said they might try and come again.
Admittedly last night win or lose was the perfect taster game for a first timer. But then it got me thinking if it wasn't the fact the club I support was the Eagles with such an amazing set up would it have been the same?
I wondered if anyone else had any similar stories of the whole "welcome to my world thing" with other family members, friends or work colleagues?

Took my wife (the girlfriend) about a month into our relationship. She had a great time and enjoys when I take her now. That was 15 years ago. I wouldn't call her a fan though

I remember a kid at school going to THE game of the season in 1997, James Hamilton's overtime buzzer beater to down the pussycats at Worthing leisure centre, he loved it - all the drama and excitement, few sports offer that where sometimes you don't know the winner until after the final buzzer has sounded!
More recently I remember at the last ever Bears home game, a win against the Rocks, a dad saying it was his and his son's first time and they loved it, looking forward to next season. At that point we already knew there was unlikely to be a next season but I didn't have the heart...

He had never experienced an atmosphere like that before as well when we exited the arena.

I wouldn't call her a fan though Same, used to go to the Eagles games once or twice a month with my mates. Took my girlfriend on one of our first dates about 7 years ago and we've barely missed a home game since. Whenever I've taken other people to the Eagles on occasion they've always enjoyed it but never turned into regulars after, even my mates who are mad on the NBA (which I'll never understand). I remember one of my mates throwing his 2 pints down his neck at half time as he didn't think you could take alcohol Ba k to your seats like at the football 😂

And Bristol lost by 40 so it was even better!
