Tonight Bristol lost in a close one by one point against Juventus (not that one) 76-75 at home meanwhile the Eagles got their first win in the ENBL 87-81 at home against Basket Brno.
Can't speak for the Bristol game but I can see I throughly enjoyed the Eagles match tonight. The Czechs gave us a good test but we did well to control the game and they allowed us to play with some freedom tonight on the offensive end.
Not a bad crowd as well for a Tuesday night ball game given it was also Halloween as well. Save to say for the Eagles it was a Happy Halloween in the end.
Basket Brno did well but were quite sloppy with the ball and turned it over one to many times and looked like they weren't as familiar with each other. But they did have some great players for them particularly their number 27 in the 2nd half.
One of their US players their number 1 and in a weird way did well scoring to begin with but I felt they played better without him on the floor. I'm also not sure how we had a British referee crew for this game though.
Overall how one sided the BBL is at the moment it's nice to be playing in a league where anyone can beat anyone and I look forward to the next one.
Hopefully with this win we can build some more momentum from here and beat Riders on Saturday as well before we go on to play Giants and the Patriots twice as well.

Who was the English referee ? . According to the pre game article on the ENBL website we had Simon Unsworth and Josh Bowe officiating us. And the other official was a Czech referee called Michal Scholze. I thought for contential matches apart from friendlies you had to have neutral referees that aren't the same nationality as the teams competing. So I was quite suprise that we had 2 British Referees I instantly recognised. Then again I looked on the other articles and saw the other games had similar patterns for the officials of the host provides 2 refs and the opponents 1. www.enbleague.eu/post/thriller-tuesday-part-one-first-enbl-game-in-newcastleI imagine that for the playoffs or Final 4 it will probably be neutral nation referee's.

Dave talked about it on Sunday Night Breakdown a while ago, they do it as a way to keep costs down as the host club has to pay for accomodation and travel for the refs. So for host club it's only 1 ref they have to pay for not 3.

I just have a funny image of them calling a foul against the team their with at the end of match and getting funny looks when they go back in the locker room? 🤣
