Think this should be a home win for us but Surrey may be a harder nut to crack than when we last beat them on our court.

Missed the game but just seen the quarter scores … what the hell happened out there?
Very disappointing to surrender such a lead in the first half.

Game of 1 quarter and 3 quarters.
Riders awful in the first and continuing in the second until a spark from Washington and bowman to get it to 9 at ht.
Starting 5 controlled the second half after finally turning up. Don't think Washington played a minute after ht.
Mo Walker looked a disconsolate figure must hurt him to see the big guys getting minutes in front of him. Inevitably he tried too hard when he got on and trudged off when he missed and was pulled. Sad to see

So I’ve been told…. That’s the biggest comeback in 7 seasons across the league.

Didn't wake up till the 15th minute. Asleep at the wheel. Surrey allowed to shoot from the perimeter without much challenge. The exact opposite for us. Our defence was a shambles at times. After that, we realised we HAD to get stops to have a prayer. Sky TV must have been as mortified as Riders' fans when we fell 23 points behind. Whatever Coach Rob said it worked because we played with purpose and energy, apart from an annoying tendency to showboat celebrating 3 pointers and not getting back to defend. Surrey caught us napping that way several times. Surrey are a decent team and Jamison's a force in the paint. Agree about Walker looking disconsolate when pulled out of the game after only 2 mins 38 seconds. Would love to see him deployed for more minutes than that in future. If we don't threaten in the low post why would their defenders sag off our 3 point shooters? A 31 point turnaround. Quite impressive but let's not dig ourselves such a massive hole to climb out of in future!

Absolutely right, the first quarter was a horror show for Riders fans, and it slowly improved from then on.
I think both Idowu and Bridges each managed just 4 points apiece, which is dismal. Bridges has shown that he can score, but almost every time he begins to dribble he turns the ball over.
Our only reliable rebounder out of all three big men is Mo Walker, and he at least provides a strong backup defender against opposing guards who beat the first line of defense, sadly missing against Eagles.
I suspect given reasonable minutes, Mo Walker could easily outscore both Bridges and Idowu.
Blake Bowman although being given plenty of court time, is not delivering as he did last season, and is not a patch on Miryne Thomas, who is sometimes subbed out for Bowman to come in.
I've perhaps ranted on too much, but I can't see the improvement that Rob talks about in the Riders newsletter.
Somehow we need to build some consistency into this team's match performances.

Surrey should have had that won, to lose from that position shows a distinct lack of confidence in my opinion. However, credit must go to Leicester who showed what a good team they potentially are, just not quite there yet. All just my opinion of course, don't want to upset anyone

Yes we had a disastrous first quarter but we won the next three quarter’s out scoring them 82-58 Rob never seemed to go mental at his players like we have seen in the past. There really wasn’t any panic, we just dug deep and played like we can.

Missed the game but just seen the quarter scores … what the hell happened out there? Very disappointing to surrender such a lead in the first half. Even when Scorchers were up 20+ points in the first half I knew it would be unlikely they'd get the win. Instinct just told me that Surrey couldn't play that good and Leicester play that bad for the entire game. Made for an enjoyable game to watch though, and a good game for Sky (and NESN in the US) to broadcast. It's a real shame Surrey are still just 1-7 in the season. I honestly don't think that accurately represents their skill and performance so far. With just a few things going the other way they could easily be mid-table right now. They play Plymouth on Sunday, hopefully they'll be able to get another win out of that one.

Once Washington hit that 3 it felt there was a degree of inevitability about the whole thing. crucially I don't think Surrey believed they could win. Even with more talent and 'playing well' this has been like every other Scorchers team over the last few seasons. Like Keithkr observed, I think this is a confidence issue. Is Dan Clark still with the programme?

Surrey just had one of those periods were they were chucking it in from all over the court. Everything they touched was turning to gold for 15 minutes. I never really thought Riders were going to lose to Surrey though. Once the shooting dried up for Surrey they were never going to have enough inside without a proper centre.

While I'm not entirely convinced by the Riders this season, I'm shocked to see Surrey blow what was probably their best chance to beat Riders in the a long time.
Similar to when the Eagles were winning by 20 against Saliu earlier this month. No matter who you are playing to blow an advantage like that was pretty poor.
I know the Scorchers are a work in process but that must be the 3rd or 4th missed opportunity where they had a chance to get a W and blew it.
Definately a game of 2 half's and more entertaining then the one sided Lions games I seen on TV recently.

I’m new to following the sport closely so not knowledgable enough about positions/style yet. What would you say makes Jamison not a proper centre?
