Last night's win will have instilled some confidence and I'm sure our defence will have improved even more by then.

What a week in training it must have been the improvement was dramatic. Perhaps it takes a while for robs methods to 'click'

He stresses (not for the first time either) what a difficult task it is for coaches to gel an influx of new players into a cohesive team, especially with rookies who may well never have been abroad before and are playing with totally unknown players and living with them too. Think I underestimated the uphill struggle it is, according to DF. And he would know, given his long experience. It was also addressed by Gladiators (in the televised documentary) who thought the key aspect with rookies/new players in the first week is to help them settle in and adjust to their new life and feel happy. Learning how to fit into the team was secondary to that goal. |
