I’m sure Mark Woods tweeted that the league should now be referred to as “the regular season” thus diluting the fact that there could be a league winner?
Not sure, but the BBL themselves have said the season comprises of 3 completions - the League (which they say was formerly known as the Championship), the Playoffs, and the Trophy. Plus the All-Star Game.
I think the new format this season puts a lot more weight on the Playoffs (rightly so) but the League is still seen as a completion within itself, even if it does get referred to as the regular season.
