Looks jolly nice doesn't it. Following on from a conversation in another thread, branding and a bit of general colour coordination make such a massive difference to a venue aesthetically. If the seats were all the same colour and the court was blank and there was scarcely any sign of a Gladiators logo anywhere, no one would have much to say about this. It would just look like another generic sports hall that we've all seen a million times before. Not having a dig at Nix there!!! I'm just saying.
I'm assuming this one will be used for TV games.

Congratulations on the steps forward. However it isn't particularly impressive about Europe. All you did was stick your hand up and ask can we play please. That's a bit harsh about Europe. I know what you're saying, but for me playing in Europe is more a sign of ambition than anything else, so I give full credit to Caledonia for that. And if we're saying all they did was 'ask to play' in Europe they certainly aren't the only BBL team to have done that. In fact that's essentially all Caledonia, Newcastle and Bristol have done. Which just leaves London and the EuroCup, and if I'm being completely fair all they've done is buy their place. But all that is more than some other BBL teams have done, which perhaps they should have, naming no names.

That's a huge blow. Watching a few Eagles@Flyers games they definatley need an arena or new venue since they have fans literally crowding the court. Seeing the new arenas for Caledonia and Sheffield I noticed alot of clubs go for the crowd sat along 2 long side stands whilst at the Eagles we have stands in all 4 corners. To be honest the side seats make more sense because the seats behind the basket make for a rubbish view of the court in my opinion.

Looks nice for the Irish. To be honest whilst im not sure if we will ever see a Irish BBL team atleast not any time soon. I reckon it would be cool to see some sort of crossover between BBL and Basketball Ireland.

But don't see why Ireland couldn't have a team playing in ENBL. I'm sure they do have enough professional players to make decent team.

That is why I cannot see an Irish Team in the BBL however a one off pre season game or a exbition match or something I think would be way more realistic. I think they had an Irish team compete in Europe which was a combination team of players from across the league many years ago. I'm not sure how it came about but I don't think they lasted to long and might have been paid for by the Eurocup.

You're thinking of Hibernia Basketball, an Irish basketball team created by Basketball Ireland to participate in the 2015–16 FIBA Europe Cup consisting of the best players from their domestic Premier League/Super League. Essentially an 'all-star' team. They finished the season with a winless 0–6 record finishing last in their group, so whilst an interesting idea it certainly wasn't a successful one. To be honest I don't really know what the rules are for the Euroleague and FIBA European competitions... do teams have to play in their domestic league too, e.g. could London Lions withdraw from the BBL and focus exclusively on Euroleague? Could the BBL enter a BBL All-Stars team into Euroleague, the logistics might not be feasible but would it be allowed? Clearly in the case of Ireland and the EuroCup it was certainly allowed at one point.

I'm not sure what the rules are for FIBA Europe Cup. For ENBL I'm sure there are no such rules but I also think ENBL is a slightly higher standard than Europe Cup overall. An Irish league All Stars team would need to play in the lowest level league possible or they would just get thrashed ever game. I would like to see them playing in some form of international midweek competition though, especially if they visit Britain.

Also Europe Cup has qualifiers so an Ireland team might not get many games. ENBL would be a better option for them.

Paris Basketball are building a new 8k seater arena. It's due to be completed in February 2024. parisbasketball.com/en/club-arena/#Paris are third in the French Pro A league and top of EuroCup Group A. Paris have to be the favourites to play in Euroleague next season.

I read today that Plymouth Patriots are looking for a permanent home at the end of this season, Apparently it cost more to rent the Pavilion than it does for Lions to rent the Copper Box.

Are you sure you weren't reading an article from this time last year? If it's costing more to hire the Pavilion in Plymouth than it costs to hire the Copper Box in London that's really surprising, and probably due to Lions securing a better anchor tenant deal than whatever deal Patriots are working with.

The pavilions has always been a joke for cost by the sound of it.
