Seems to be a sensible move, if it allows the club to be sustainable and contine to provide basketball for it's community.

No fans, no venue. They only gained a reputation because they managed to spend way above their means for a few seasons thanks to by the sounds of it generous sponsorship that has now fallen through.

is the title correct? Thought they already had a side in div2 - so what has happened is they have scrapped an unsustainable D1 team but are keeping their sustainable D2 team

Total kop out by Kestrels. They should have taken their licks next season in D1 and then dropped to D2 with their self respect intact. You have to take the rough with the smooth....BE helping sell this crock of nonsense only makes it worse. They've not gone bust. They've just given up because they are not the best anymore.
