The NBA Free Agency season opened today.
The biggest move so far in Bruce Brown of the Nuggets getting a $45 Million two year deal with the Pacers. That is a fantastic deal for Brown and sets his family up for generations.

The interesting story for me at the moment is James Harden opting in to his deal with Philly, thus not becoming a free agent. No real surprise, as no one is going to match the deal he opted into. And now they are looking for a trade. As Windhorst said on PTI, "not many players have as much experience in forcing a trade as James Harden" Hopefully Nick Nurse won't have to deal with him and they can get shot of him. OKC is like the Spurs, building through the draft and trades rather than free agency, so no real interest on that front. GM Sam Presti originally worked for the Spurs - have you noticed how guys who have been there, whether its in management or coaching under Pop, always seem to go on to do good things at other teams. It amazes me that more teams don't follow the same model. These super teams rarely work. Miami was about the only one that did with LeBron and Bosh joining Wade. Lakers in 2020 but it didn't last. Denver has done it the Spurs way, Golden State did, Toronto did.

Kyrie has re-upped with Dallas for 3 years. What odds on him actually completing those 3 years without wearing out his welcome? I'd say long! Ugh, not a good time to be a Mavs fan - I'd be hitting the beers pretty hard right now if I was.
