This is what comes with having Steve Timoney. People like him get things done. British basketball has never had someone like this which is why they're always underachieving.

I guess Gladiators must have some kind of really good relationship with the BBC after their documentary and now this. To be honest this is probably what the WBBL needs in general to be fair especially if they want more people to take notice. Having only 3 finals now 2 with the removal of the Cup was not going to be enough to get anyone regularly interested. In way these seems similar to what the the WSL are trying to with the ladies football league on a weekend. Either way I'm impressed Gladiators have done this. ๐

Great news. It's a shame it's not a more league-wide (BBL & WBBL) deal, but full credit to Gladiators in achieving this for themselves.

Bit harsh on some of the people who've got loads done, for example the clubs who've built their own arenas without having a pot of millions to just dip in to. The Timoney's are obviously a force for good, but let's not shit on the good work that's gone before.

It's worth noting that Newcastle's Paul Blake was instrumental in getting the original Sky Sports deal done a few seasons ago, the deal that has since been built upon and is still going today.

My comment is aimed more at Basketball England and Great Britain Basketball who often complain that other sports receive more exposure and more funding, rather than going out and getting more exposure and funding. The BBL clubs have done well.

I have noticed there are a few highlight videos of Gladiators games on the BBC website basketball page, no doubt through the efforts of Steve Timoney.

Women's college basketball is making the actual news, not just the sports news. www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-68746027Probably no chance of it having any impact on our women's basketball but interesting nevertheless.

I've just been in the US the past fortnight and that match (well, the build up to it) was all over the TV - it seemed to be the leading sports story and the top thing being discussed on the numerous sports talk shows they have out there. Caitlin Clark seems to be taking the basketball world by storm. Definitely good for the women's game but agree that the trickle down effect to here will be minimal.

Just watching who wants to be a millionaire show on television, reckon the end qquestion could be. What sport does Caitlin Clark play? and everyone in Britain would take the ยฃ500000.

I see a lot of WNBA coverage on social media. They're selling out big arenas and it's being well covered by the US media. I wouldn't go as far as to say I follow it but I watch a bit of it on YouTube. This is the season women's basketball has really taken that step up from being niche to being mainstream.
I think the BBC should be reporting the WNBA scores.
