This time the real last chance saloon for the Eagles and after last Fridays match I suspect their will be no love lost between the 2 teams.
Hopefully whatever happens it will be a great game and the officials won't allow a certain glads player to get away punching our players off the court.
I'm still gobsmacked the league hasn't yet decided to take action on that.

Gladiators have a lot to play for - continuing to work out and improve on rotations with Ai Fraser out the options, hopefully a player returning from injury and building up their minutes for the playoffs, working on a couple of guys to cut down on the fouls (as was done well in Trophy final) and let the minutes be dictated by the rotations and not by the foul count
oh and pride - getting a W against a team that for a long time was a bogey side as well as being the rival for a derby

To be honest I reckon if we defeat Gladiators tonight then I think we have a good chance of being able to beat the Patriots by 10 given the way both sides are playing at the moment.
If that were to happen and we finish 8th then it would also constitute as progress in terms of 1 step up from last season for the Eagles.
Although I definately don't see us overcoming London Lions unless they were to not show up or have a really bad day at the office.
But I know for now the focus has to be on getting past the Gladiators first.

Well so far the officials have been generous to us in the 1st half.
I felt we have been lucky as for about 15 minutes into the game I felt Gladiators were the better team before we overturned the momentum for the last 5 minutes.
Hopefully we can play more like the last 5 minutes for the 3rd and 4th Quarter.

Eagles really had Cally's number tonight and got inside their heads. Gladiators forced the ball through Alihodzic who was horrendously inefficient.
Johnson is a stud on offense.

Gladiators haven't been good in either of these games against Eagles. The teams around the bottom half must be desperate to finish fifth and play them instead of Bristol or Leicester.

Well strange game and it looked like both teams were beating themselves at times but looks like the Eagles survive another day.
Looks like things are starting to click for the Eagles even if it is really late in the day and what made this win sweeter was the fact we got it without relying on Hamlet.
Some great play and I felt like we really wanted it tonight and look good from the mid 2nd Quarter onwards.
There were times I felt like we got lost in transition and made some clumsy mistakes like being caught out of bounds.
But as soon as we took control the moment the Glads got close we pulled the game away again.
Which is exactly what we need to do Sunday against Patriots especially if we need to win that game by 10+ in order to qualify.
Just got to hope Lions don't take an off day and allow Patriots to win tommorow.
Either way it's now on the Pats to show up for work tommorow and try to secure the early check spot for the playoffs.
And I will makesure I follow the game result when it takes place.
For the record whoever does the DJ sounds at the Glads game please stop doing that "duh duh" sound every stop as I find it really irritating and well over played.
It was annoying to listen to in the Trophy Final and the same again here.
But I also hope that Gladiators player Jimenez is okay and not badly concussed as that fall looked nasty.

Correct, although they only need to win by 9 or more to get a playoff spot… if they win by 9 the is H2H tied but Newcastle still qualify on overall pts difference. |
