Think Eagles fans might say he retired from the BBL some time ago

Done great for GB over the years. Maybe struggled at BBL/club level somewhat. Expect a few of the slightly older guys may follow suit with still very little being done for them.

Well that us a suprise. I wonder if that means he is going to walk away from Newcastle as well at the end of the season or possibly retire domestically as well.
Let's be honest I felt the only thing that excited Mockford was playing for GB rather then playing for the Eagles. And I suppose I agree given how the GB programme doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. I suppose it makes sense why he would retire now.
I think he needs to focus more on getting back to playing ball in general instead of playing for his country.

He's had a few decent games for us this season, and been very unlucky with his latest injury. He's spent most of the season surrounded by chaos and then got injured just when the team was starting to look settled.

Just had a baby this season. Judging from instagram, his wife is very successful (im using teenager logic and basing that on followers) maybe it is time for him to hang them up. Ill always remember those 2 huge games he had for the raiders way back when

I understand he has had injury but I did question if his heart was in it for the Eagles when we signed him since he walked away from Nix last year right before a final I was skeptical. Yes I do think on his day Mockford can be a good player and before he got injured a game perhaps he was finding his rhythm. But I also felt even if he had avoided injury to me he hadn't played enough domestically as of late to warrant a GB call up. If he stays around next season I hope like Stu Thomson he could somehow has a stellar season next year. And with the revolving door we had this season he isn't the only player who I felt underdelivered in expectations this season. But it will be up to the Eagles organisation to sort it out for next year.
