Exactly, the biggest curse in British basketball is clubs don’t want to work together. The same all over!

I thibk youre right. But this ceiling should be nbl1 standard and theres no shame in nbl1 Hopefully one day that's a reality. I'd like to think in maybe 5-10 years time a 3,000 capacity arena in the BBL is league minimum. Anywhere below that is in NBL 1, so if teams don't shape up they go down a level. Like you say, there should be no shame in that. 3,000 is too high. NBPC and Morningside Arena are less than 3,000 but they’re big enough and they’re not going to get any bigger.

Basketball would be in a great position in this country if you had NBL 1 clubs operating like a Cheshire, Plymouth, Surrey etc. Then you had a BBL above it operating at a level above that. Obviously not now, but at some point I think that's where we need to be at.

Exactly, the biggest curse in British basketball is clubs don’t want to work together. The same all over! Everyone fighting for their own tiny slice of the pie. Typical British basketball. It's ridiculous situations like this happen. Middlesbrough and Stockton do not need separate semi pro teams splitting the market.

Sadly there are some people running clubs who would cause an arguement with themselves, so are pshcologically unsuited to any form of colaberative working.
This also means that the sport is unable to develop an audience profile that makes it attractive to companies with large sponsorship and marketing budgets.
Improve the image of the sport, develop a better audience profile and sponsorship and investment will arrive.

But isn't that sort of what 777 and league been trying to do all season? With the "Know our name" campaign and the jazzed up BBL Show. Which I will say this I do quite like the effort being put into these things. Although for the BBL Show it means less regular episodes now.
People have kept saying apparently the playoffs are 1 game instead of 2 legs. Which I have researched and cannot find anywhere that says this has changed.
Although to me as much as I hate 2 legged basketball I don't think altering the playoffs to single games would make sense unless you did a best of 3 series with a 1 off final. Which was meant to be the plan during the season that got cut short due to Covid.
Now that I would be willing to get behind instead of 2 legs since it means even after a blowout the next game isn't left feeling meaningless if one team wins by 30 points in leg 1.

I'm assuming we're still getting 2 legs in the Play Off QFs and SFs. I'd prefer the 'best of 3' that never happened, but I'll take 2 legs over single games.
On Sunday Night Breakdown Dave Forester has repeatedly said he can't see any scenario where London aren't at least in the Play Off final because he can't see anyone beating London over 2 games. Now, I know Dave F is no longer officially involved in the BBL, but Dan Routledge is. What with his broadcaster role, and his connections with Leicester, Dan must have an insight into the play off format and he's never once said anything to Dave to suggest it won't be 2 games. That's my theory at least.

Option C - a fully available league owned club in a key UK sports market with potential to grow into a regular trophy challenger 'off the shelf'.

On capacities Eagles wanted to build larger but the City Council would only allow 2800. Which is always sold out, remarkable given how poorly we're playing.
