If I couldn’t have London winning the Trophy, that is the game I wanted to see. Great game, amazing finish! Congratulations Caledonia Gladiators.

Well if 777 were planning on scrapping this competition then I like to think that last play might make them reconsider. What a game!
Went into as a neutral so wasn't bothered who won. But seeing the Caledonia fans singing afterwards was a quite a unique celebration of which I have never seen before makes me glad they get the win.
I do thing Glasgow Gladiators probably would roll off the tongue better then Caledonia. However for the BBL and Scottish basketball in generally this was a great advert for the league.
As for the Nix fans, I'm sure they will be disappointed they lost but they gave the Glads a great game and it was good to see they had brought along an army of fans as well.
All I can say is the BBL playoff final in May now has a lot to live up to. And will have a tough job in trying to make the curtain call on the season looking as spectacular as what we just witnessed today.

Really exiting, thoroughly enjoyable game for 39 mintes 59 seconds and then ................ could have won it but no real complaints. Fantastic support from us with 400 travelling fans making a sea of yellow but did feel we were fighting against a whole country, they bought the pipes and drums as well. Seemed like 400 against 300 true Caledonia fans and 5400 truly neutral basketball fans (including Les from Newcastle)!

Brilliant game from an entertainment perspective but have to question Ben thomas advancing the ball at his final time out. Seemed a crazy move and I think cost them at least over time. Great atmosphere and delighted for the rocks and especially for players like Jonny Bunyan. But if I was a nix fan I would be shaking my head at Ben Thomas decision. Maybe I am wrong

Gladiator’s final play was excellent. Well done those players for keeping their heads under pressure. The Emirates Arena looked amazing and the atmosphere looked and sounded fantastic. Exactly what Gladiators needed to take it to the next level from next season.

It'd be funny if they lost, I have no love for the team name, yes the players are the same ones I've seen like Bunyan but I despise the name change. If I was a Billionaire I'd buy the team, change the name back to the Rocks, stay at the Emirates, bring the old Rocky mascot back, costume that is, not necessarily the person wearing the costume. I'd then have a link up with the Lady Rocks and bring them under the Glasgow Rocks banner playing as Glasgow Rocks Women. Plus if it were possible, have both teams play on the same day, give fans double Basketball. Wasn't a huge fan of the name change, nut I think you're being a bit melodramatic? Surely leaving the Emirates is a good thing as well? Your own basketball focused facility rather than having to play second fiddle to tennis tournaments?

Of course having a new venue is an improvement, but there's not much wrong with the Emirates Arena as far as I can tell. My only criticism is the use of wall-mounted goals rather than portable goals. I can only assume the building is just slightly too short for the portable goals. The old Gorilla Rocky was better than this weird mascot. I don't know why Rocky the Gorilla can't just wear a Gladiator outfit.

Yes it is an improvement. And the new arena can be a source of income rather than just being a cost.

Well I'm glad they won to spite you as that is one of those most petty pathetic comments I've ever read about British basketball You can say that again. How petty do you have to be to not want a team to win because you don't like the name? It's safe to say, if this person had somehow bought the franchise there would have been no link up with Lady Rocks. My perspective: My history with the club mainly involves travelling to Birmingham to watch my team being defeated in finals against Newcastle Eagles. I thought the Nix fans were great yesterday - they came up to Glasgow in numbers, and were a sea of yellow at the Emirates Arena. I saw them wait outside to applaude their team and coach when they came out of the arena. Fantastic fans. I've been to lots of finals, and I'm sure I'm a little biased (given that my team won), but I thought the whole day was fantastic. The WBBL game was close for a bit, and Riders fought hard, but ultimately Lions were too much for them. There was a decent crowd for the WBBL game, which was good to see. The atmosphere for the BBL game was amazing. If I was to change anything, it would probably be to have less loud music so that the fans can be heard more. It was great to have 6,000 people at a basketball game in Glasgow. The dream is for Caledonia Gladiators to replicate that attendance in the new arena. Can you imagine that crowd at every league game? Can you imagine being the away team, and turning up to that? This franchise will change basketball in Scotland.

To be honest in terms of the name I think Glasgow Gladiators sounds better and rolls off the tongue easier. But I wonder if yesterday will have inspired anyone else in Scottish basketball to want in on the BBL. We have all said it would be great if their was an Edinburgh franchise that could rival the team in Glasgow. Or maybe even an Aberdeen team. Although unless someone knows something I doubt we will be seeing it any time soon. But if the game yesterday is anything to go by the other teams in the SBL might feel more inspired and I imagine would have been supporting Caledonia yesterday.

We did it last year when we won so why change. Its called being true fans of the club we only had 400 we couldn't get any more tickets, the other 600 who turn up every game had to watch from afar. Nice touch from one of our sponsors, David Lloyd Health club, they had it on their big screens and gave Nix fans the chance to watch the game then use all their facilties free of charge for the rest of the day.
