Interesting that someone with BBL knowledge let this out of the bag and advising the press. Surely that cannot help the partnership

Sounds like English media want the Everton deal looked into
Man Utd fan Henry Winter being one of them, meanwhile some fans are none the wiser about 777's reputation
dunkster was right

The Premier League will be compelled to look into this - the scousers are spitting fire on their socials this morning. What is astonishing is that whether Lions fans are aware (or even care) but certainly Giants and Patriots fans have no idea exactly how or who is keeping their clubs on life support. The Daily Mail piece is confirmed by 777 directly that they are paying for them. The BBL has never looked in worse shape despite some window dressing around fancy bomber jackets and a slick media team. Let's see if the much vaulted Josimar guys are correct about people in high places in other clubs going rogue!!

I thought it was interesting to read from one 'journalist' on social media that some people within the BBL want to exit the 777 partnership as soon as possible and initiate talks with other interested investors - of which there are at least two.
As for London Lions, if 777 were to walk out I suspect there might also be other investors interested in taking over, assuming the debt they'd inherit wasn't too large. Maybe even the BBL and their new potential partner might see value in taking them on (like the Plymouth and Manchester situations). I doubt in either of those two scenarios we'd see anything close to the same spend we've seen the last couple of years, so it might mean withdrawing from european competition and a return to mid-table success for Lions, but I'd say there's a good chance they'd survive - even if under a new name (again, sort of like the Plymouth situation). After all, we know how valuable a London team is to the BBL.

Whoever that bloke Dunkster was, he was bang on about these 777 jokers. Shockingly bang on.
If I’m fact this Everton deal goes through without questioning source of funds, this will all collapse Alan Stanford style. BBL best get new investors asap or they will be caught up more than they are now!

Todays piece in the New York Times, along with the one from Washington Post will serve as the death knell for this lot. The blowback for the PL will be too much to approve a deal for Everton. We are looking at a post BBL 777. Was great while it lasted!

The FA have approved two 777 partners to be directors if they get approved to buy the Everton shares - means nothing though until they get the pass on the Premier league owner and director test.
