More injury woe for eagles

Interesting to see if a replacement import centre is brought in, or one of the Uni players (Ronald Blain perhaps) is registered as our final import.
If its the latter pretty much calling the season and holding budget back. Shame to waste another season of prime Fletch.

Is this the worst Newcastle season on record ? Only ever had one other losing season in 1999. 10 wins that year, so well on the way to being worse season ever. |

The list of players injured this season makes sad reading for Eagles fans. Nothing worse than seeing a fantastic organisation slipping down the table due to no fault of there own. Injuries are a terrible for any team as benches are usually quite short so the impact is great. Totally different if the players are not performing on the court, OK Eagles may not have been setting the league on fire but I’m pretty sure they would be a lot higher than they are with a fit roster. Wishing the Duke a fast recovery and hope to see him back in the BBL soon. |

And the Eagles add Justin Gordon to replace The Duke.
Was fantastic for us last season, even if not a direct replacement positionally at least gives us fans something to be optimistic and excited about.

I'm starting to wonder when we won the double last year did one of those trophies have a curse written on it?
This must be our worse season for injury struggles and its not even down to fixture congestion either.
Just watched the Sheffield game though and despite the loss I felt we played well.
And with less players it seems like we're playing better at times then we do with a full squad ironically.
But if this season is anything to go by it shows a lack of depth has hurted us.
As for Duke I hope he is okay and we see him back playing as I was starting to like his game.
Although I look forward to seeing Justin Gordon return.
Despite him playing for us last season it will be weird and a strange feeling seeing an Eagles player hero for the first time in person.
But if we want any chance in making the playoffs a hero is certainly what the Eagles need right now to save this season from being a complete disaster!

Would imagine there must be at least one more signing to come in. As much as I love the Gordon signing it leaves us very small, with only Darius as a recognised centre.
Still a European slot to be taken or potentially looking at a UK passport centre. Or just go small for the rest of the season.
