As a Nix fan watching this weekend closely. Losing both games last weekend sent us from 4th to 6th.Teams around us playing 1 or 2 games catching up could make it a closer league than a month ago.

I was desperate for Scorchers to sign a new American guard, but bringing in McFolley looks like it's thrown us way off balance. This weekend's games have been so unorganised.
I guess it's to be expected when you just throw someone into the team at this stage of the season, but it's tough to watch. He looks like a talent, mind. Hopefully things will start to click sooner rather than later.

Did all the hard work to get it back to one point and haven’t scored for literally 5 whole minutes of the game clock …
Edit: Only scored two baskets in the whole 4th quarter. Shambles.

No Gareth Murray who prioritised being asst in a meaningless gb game to coaching the rocks. If I am the owner I’m noting that down

I believe Rocks (as did all teams) had the option not to play a game during the international 'break'.
Im sorry but it's pretty disgusting that the national team doesn't take precedent for most people, meaningful game or not. Basketball, British in particular, seems a pretty unique sport in most people not giving a sh*t about its national side

Fair enough but when the national team doesn’t select the best players available then that surely downgrades the fixture and if the best players aren’t needed you’d think the asst coach wouldn’t need to travel either. As a rocks fan I want a coach that prioritises my club not some other job they have

which better players were available that weren't selected?
In any event what an incredibly short sighted position to adopt : the benefits to a coach of being involved in international basketball are multiple.

We will have to agree to differ. It was well reported that the team to face Belgium and Serbia was a development team with many first picks left at home. Just because Surrey sit bottom no game in bbl can be taken for granted. Indeed we lost to Surrey last season. For the asst coach to miss one GB game to focus on his bread and butter job given it was a development team with no chance to qualify I don’t think was too much to ask. This situation wouldn’t be tolerated in many other sports.

Alternatively, it's a development team with lots of young prospects that Coach can build a rapport and reputation with which may help with recruitment down the line.. especially if Glasgow have high aspirations with their new ownership
