Kings trade away Tyrese Halliburton for Domantas Sabonis (and a couple of rotation pieces)
I know Sabonis is a 2 x all star but this seems like a crazy decision, he isn’t going to get them in the playoffs and Halliburton has serious high potential

Don't think anyone would've considered traded Haliburton, apart from them. I'd rather have him than Fox, when you look at the salaries it's bonkers.

Bulls lose by 3 to Suns. No lonzo or Caruso. Don’t write of Heat and Levert is a great pick up for cavs. I’m not convinced the west is still stronger than the east tbh. I’ve really only started following the NBA in the last couple of years has there always been so many injuries? Good question! A lot of guys have missed time due to covid protocols so it might feel worse because of that, but yeah I'd say there are always key players out for large parts of every season. If anything you'd think it'd be less now because of advancements in training, nutrition, etc and the reduction in back to back games and 4 in 5 nights. But you look back at guys like Stockton and Malone or iron man AC Green, never missing games. They make today's guys who sit out for 'rest' look so soft.

I’m not sure how the injuries stack up to years gone by, I also do not like the idea of changing the structure of the league too much, but I also do find it stupid that pretty much every year it comes down to which team manages to avoid injuries in the play-offs the most, it’s never going to happen, And I am not even sure I would want it to, but shortening the season and spreading the games out a bit more would surely help with this

There is talk of reducing games but adding in a knockout tournament of some sort mid-season.
I like that idea and think over time it would be seen as prestigious and worth winning, though to start with probably not as Americans tend to focus purely on the playoffs as the be all and end all. Getting the best record in the league hardly means anything, whereas in leagues here I think most people see that as much more a measure of success than winning the playoffs.
So it might not reduce the number of games but might make some of them mean more and offer a different trophy for teams to aim at. I also think it gives every team a chance at success because even a bad team could get a favourable draw and put together a few upset wins, then suddenly they're playing games in February that actually have some importance.

Harden for Simmons actually happened then, Will be very interesting to see how it all plays out
My Spurs blowing it up too, I am very pleased because at least we will be rubbish on purpose now instead of just being rubbish while trying to win, and we collecting more than a few draft picks as well and with our history of developing young players I’m looking forward to it

It’ll be interesting to see where this puts the 76ers. If I was Brooklyn fan I’d rather have Jarrod Allen! I love watching Kyrie but as a team member he’s just a cancer. Harden fed up carrying such a heavy load.

I think Simmons is a better fit in Brooklyn (when they're all fit and playing) than Harden is in Philly. Be interesting to see how the offence runs there. Not the sort of big that Harden generally likes to play with. But Embiid is a lot more talented than the bigs he's played with before. They've got 2 super talented players, if they can make it work then they will be dangerous.

Wow, I didn't think it would happen! Nash even said it definitely wouldn't, bet he feels undermined now.
I can't see it working for the Nets this year with Kyrie in and out and Simmons not playing all season, plus KD's questionable health. But maybe next year?
As for Harden, I don't think he's a winner. He gets fed up everywhere he goes but for me he's always lacked that x-factor quality, that ability to motivate and drive a team forwards and make guys around him better. I know Embiid does a better job of that but I don't know if this will work. I can see them clashing regularly. I might be wrong. We'll see!
Also, KP to the Wiz? I like Dinwiddie but this was a WTF moment by Dallas.

hahaha! If you haven't seen the video of KD and LeBron selecting their all star reserves, its worth a look. About halfway through you can hear the penny drop with Charles, Kenny and Shaq as they realise KD is deliberately snubbing Harden, who ends up going last to team LeBron. And even then LeBron's going "is he healthy? can he even play in the game?" Classic.

KDs response to Ernie asking about his return to play wasn’t bad either! I think KD actually smiled at one point. Barkley was class!

I think KD has gotten very testy and passive aggressive the last 5,6 years. He used to be such a nice, smiling, happy guy but somewhere along the line he got fed up with answering media questions and having to defend himself. Remember when he made up fake Twitter accounts to back himself up against trolls? I just think he's a very negative person these days. Compare with how LeBron was in the draft, laughing and joking around - chalk and cheese!

Allen replaced Harden in the all star game - happy to see that.

Meanwhile, Nicola Jokic completed his "500th" Double Double of the season. His consistency is amazing, especially as the team around him is severely weakened by long term injuries.
In my opinion he should be awarded the MVP trophy again this season.

One thing I’m sure off is Nash wont throw Simmons under the bus aka Doc. The Nets 76 ers will be must watch.

I think Giannis has to be in the mix too, again. He just scored 50 points off 21 shots, the 4th fewest ever to get 50. That's efficient! It seems to me the big men are starting to do incredible things now, just like a few seasons ago it was Westbrook, Curry and Harden doing the amazing things. Does this hint at the game slowly changing again and shifting back towards more dominant big men?

Agree with Giannis. I think Ja Morant, Trey Young, Steph, Darius Garland, Lamello, Booker will disagree.

Yes, lots of talented guards coming through which is great to see. Hopefully Simmons can get back into that bracket too - I thought he was destined to be one of the top 4 or 5 players in the league a couple of years ago but now, who knows. I'm not sure playing with negative people like KD and Kyrie is going to help his confidence any.

Or how about DeRozan? He's just broken a record set by Wilt the Stilt, you know it's good if it's one of his records that's gone! Bulls are also sitting atop or near the top of the east.
