Cheshire are now the highest ranked league team left in the competition and now have a good chance at defending their Trophy after tonight.
Although Surrey did beat Bristol in the first round and will be viewing this as the only thing they have to play for given the unlikelieness of them being able to qualify for the playoffs. So I certainly wouldn't count them out.

I for one am already dreaming of the final.
Have we only won 3 games all year? Sure. But I love to dream.
I imagine, even as professionals, it’s hard to get up for a league game where it’s already looking like finishing 9th is a tall ask. For a realistic chance of silverware though? This game could be all or nothing for our guys and hopefully they bring their all!

Hopefully it'll be the nothing. Adding another tick to my non existent bucket list today. Coming down to Scorchers to watch the game tonight, I've never been before and it's the last venue that I've never been to. Should be a good game as Scorchers are better than early season form with a few changes, so are we though. New guard suiting up for Nix after the injury to Daniels breaking up the combination of Jack Daniels in the backcourt. Naenia, come over and say hello, always nice to fit a face into a name.

This game could be all or nothing for our guys and hopefully they bring their all! For what they are paid to do they should be motivated and wanting to bring it every night and every game. Even if for your team this season is dead in the water. You still want to prove your worth and hope your either kept on next season. Or generate enough interest elsewhere so scouts from other teams in the league or abroad take interest in you. Whilst we know players all want to be stars and be the MVP. At the same time especially in the BBL it's also about being able to put food on the table and makesure you have a job in Basketball next season unless you already have something else to fall back on. Also from what I have seen with the likes of Justin Gordon from the Eagles and CJ Gettys when he played for Nix winning an MVP award in a final certainly helps grant you a ticket to returning to the league or club if things went wrong elsewhere. And again right now when you look at the Scorchers whilst they might be out of the league. If they were to miraculously win the Trophy. Then which ever player for them wins MVP from the game will certainly generate intrest from elsewhere and a brighter future in the sport.

Tough win for the first three quarters but we pulled away reasonably comfortably in the 4th. Impressed with our new point guard, very smooth in his shooting 2×3 and 2×2 for his points. Nice to see a spread of scorers with 6 players in double figures and hitting three points. Impressed with set up there, noisy crowd (but not as loud as us), coach arrived 2 1/2+ before tip, can recommend the sports bar with Aspuls cider and the 6 nations rugby!!
