Well, Sunday just got a whole lot more interesting with Carrington Love able to play. We're definitely the underdogs so Coach Rob has nothing to lose by rolling the dice. Phoenix got within 10 against a pretty much full strength £ions. Think the BBL made a sensible decision to allow Love to play. No neutral wants a super one-sided final and without Bandoo that was almost certainly on the cards. This gives Riders fans some hope of an upset which would be an amazing result of course.

Dispensation only given so Leicester couldn't use 777 both having a controlling stake in the league and owning Lions as an excuse for losing the final. I doubt he'll really play much in reality given he's only arrived a few days before the final.

Lion's have played 4 games in 9 days inlcuding away in Trento. I don't think the Cheshire game last night is reflective of what they'll bring to the final on Sunday, especially with Kosta, Best and possible Oni back.

Pretty sure you're right about Love's minutes. And £ions should win the final fairly easily with their roster but sport's a funny old game sometimes. Riders are expected to lose so they can try anything they like. That adds some spice.

I remember way way way back in 2001 when a little BBL side called the Leicester Riders went head to head against the mighty London Leopards in a certain cup final.
They played with a 6 man roster and were by far the underdogs as the All conquering Leopards were going to wipe the floor with them and send them back to the midlands with their tail between their legs.
Well if you check the record books those Leopard's had their mighty claws trimmed and returned home with absolutely FCUK All to show for their day out
In a cup final never underestimate the power of the underdog.

I wondered if the Bandoo announcement last night might be prelude to some signing news today. Think this guy looks a better option for us personally. Clearly not as good a pure shooter but he can knock down threes and the numbers suggest he's capable of offering quite a bit more in other areas. He's been a very effective scorer in some pretty good leagues despite the up and down perimeter shooting. He looks shifty, looks like a guy who can score and create for team mates off the dribble. That's what this team lacks in my opinion. It doesn't lack players who can gun it from the three point line. It lacks the all round play making ability of a Geno Crandall. This guy was conference all defense at Green Bay too and he's racked up steals in college and in the pros so hopefully a decent player at that end of the floor. I don't really understand what Riders fans saw in 20 odd minutes of Bandoo to convince them he was so vital to our chances Sunday. If we had no chance without him we had no chance with him in my view. I doubt we get a massive contribution from Love against Lions but bigger picture, I'm hoping we may have finally found a Geno replacement worth his salt. Lion's have played 4 games in 9 days inlcuding away in Trento. I don't think the Cheshire game last night is reflective of what they'll bring to the final on Sunday, especially with Kosta, Best and possible Oni back. Don't Lions have too many overseas players now to put out their actual best team, at least in BBL play? The club has advertised Oni as a British passport holder. Everywhere else seems to think he's Nigerian American. I'm still counting six overseas without him. Also not sure it was ever established what the rules are with regards to them rotating their imports.

Although we seem to have benefited here no doubt 777 will change the rules so that they can play whoever they want.
Think bandoo just looked better than Thornton hence the optimism
Love is a seasoned pro so already high hopes for him

Definitely more optimistic about the rest of the season.
