Not at all confident about our chances against Surrey tonight. They appear to have turned the corner and we still have some massive holes. Think this could be an important one to decide who finishes bottom, which is of course what everyone cares about most!

Tonight’s matches look like the 2nd place playoff, the 4th place playoff and the relegation 6 pointer that Eagles have to win if they’ve turned any sort of corner. At least they were more competitive in Manchester last week….

Watching the Eagles match 8 up at half time could have been a lot more they allowed scorchers back in it before a decent run at the end of the second quarter put Eagles back in front.

Cohn on fire for Eagles - they’ve even got a decent court side commentator ! Has Howard gone for good ?

I know i like to bring up how Leicester are a shadow of their former self but i spent the game wanting them to win and it was clear why they didnt, they don't have a leader at all out there. Easy to say the pg should be but how many years was it the sf/pf that was that leader?

Well done Flyers. Great competition and despite Bristol's AWFUL free throw shooting they were always ahead in the second half. Menzies just cannot stop fouling. We'll be better with a replacement import for Thornton. Onwards and upwards.

Despite blowing a 25 point lead Eagles ran out winners. This one needs watching again as there were many talking points including something I've never seen before. Unsportsmanlike foul called with two shots for Surrey. The wrong player took the first shot, turnover and Eagles ball.
Every day's a school day. 😁

Well Eagles certainly ran that one close tonight but all in all looks like this team is starting to at the very least come together alot better.
Pity that D Johnson got ejected although I am starting to notice a rise in the number of unsportmanslike fouls called across the league now. Seems like the officials have been on a mission to call alot more of these fouls.
As for the other games with Leicester losing to Bristol, then similar to last season. It's starting to look like we already have a winner for the league at the mid season period.

Darien Nelson-Henry was poor tonight, but the refs were worse.
Whenever I see Keith Williams on court I know it will be a bad night, and so it proved.

No idea where to start with Giants v Gladiators.
Manchester giving up 30+ points in Q1 again then turning into a different team is a very weird trend. Their offence was static and defence abysmal in that first quarter - Caledonia on the other hand moved the ball brilliantly and got open bucket after open bucket.
Then Giants seemed to remember how to defend and got stop after stop but again the pedestrian offence didn’t turn it into a dominant lead.
The last 26 seconds of the Dirk three and Green block are why we all love the sport though. Clutch stuff.
Caledonia have a Sloan problem though. He takes too much time off the clock and constantly drives into traffic - forced lots of turnovers and got a couple of really fortunate rolls of the ball. Was surprised Gareth didn’t pull him sooner. Final play of the game felt like freelancing too when they were scoring in the paint for fun.
Onwas and Bailey both excellent ‘professional’ basketball players though.
Great to see Lee back a month early for Giants. Some rust to blow off but he’s so important. Hope there wasn’t a serious recurrence of his injury and the rest was precautionary given a busy schedule.

After an unsportsmanlike, are you not allowed to nominate which player takes the shots? It almost looked to me like the refs were annoyed at Wang tossing the ball up through the hoop after his first free throw missed? Edit: No, turns out I was wrong all-round. You were spot-on apparently.

The poor quality of refereeing is really starting to effect my enjoyment of games. So many nothing calls in the Eagles game and then numerous occasions where they can't even implement the rules correctly. Dave F was literally telling them what do at one point from the crowd, it really is embarrassing.
With GB games being played up here, it's always a pleasure to see how much they (FIBA refs) let go resulting in a much more physical, free flowing game.
I really hope the league can do something to improve the standard of reffing.
On a more positive note, Eagles were very good defensively tonight. If it hadn't been for Donovan Johnson getting a very tough whistle all night we would've won at a canter. Really hope they can kick on from here and keep that same defensive intensity going forward.

Eagles without mockford and Everett are the best unit that is now Clear Spot on. Mockford seems to have lost whatever he might have had, including his shot. A shadow of his GB self. Hopefully he will explode with his annual 10/10 from behind the arc performance in the play-off final (and there’s a pink pig flying across the sky….) And, after a decent debut, Everett seems to have gone backwards and lost not only his own confidence but the confidence of his coaches. Seems to add nothing. Suspect another change will follow this month. On the other hand, David Cohn is emerging as a really interesting PG especially when he is assertive, whilst HASAHN French is one of the more interesting defensive talents we have seen in the BBL for a while - very quick feet for a big. And when fit Kyle Johnson is much much better than I expected.
