So NBA followers will be aware that Donovan Mitchell just scored 71 points the other night, the 8th highest scoring game in history. It got me to wondering, and I am sure many know - what is the highest scoring (individual) game in BBL history?
Or for a trickier one, Mitchell scored or assisted on a total of 99 points, the 2nd highest in league history after Wilt Chamberlain's 100 point game. To me that's the impressive stat. So what is the BBL record for scoring or assisting on points in a game?

Is there a BBL Hall of Fame? I feel like there should be a website where we can all look at this kind of thing.

For scoring alone, I'm only going off this proballers.com page but it lists two 50 point games: from Mike McCall (Giants) in 2019 and Victor Moses (Phoenix) in 2014. The question of scores & assists seems a bit trickier, but I think it can be roughly worked out. Of the top 10 points-scoring games listed on that site, the most assists anyone got was 8 - from Kofi Josephs' 46-point performance for the Raiders vs the Giants in late 2021. I don't know if there's any way to tell if any of those assists were 3 point plays or not, but if we assume they were all 2s, that would put him on 62. The only other contender I can find in my brief research is from looking at the highest number of assists in a game. The record is 19 (achieved twice) and then there are a lot of 17-assist games charted, but almost none of those performances were high-scoring ones as well. The only exception to that (that I can find) is from April 2019, in the 4OT highest-scoring BBL game ever, where Worcester beat Surrey 152-150. Scorchers' Quincy Taylor put up 33 points and 17 assists which, again, if we assume were all 2s, would put him on 67. So my guess is it's that game from Quincy with 67+ but if anyone has anything better-researched to offer up, I'd love to know a more accurate answer.

He only got 56 points if you follow the rules though!

You're telling me no BBL player has ever scored over 60 in a game? That can't be right surely?!

Victor Moses (Phoenix) in 2014. He di it in the gloom of the Northgate Arena in Chester. Every time he shot the ball anywhere near the basket it went in. It was one of those games when you could say "I was there!"

Russ Saunders is the record scorer in a BBL League Game with 64 points
According to Dan Routledge
I don't know any more than that
But a quick Google showed me he was voted Player of the season both in 1983 and 1995
So he had a long career
He also got suspended for using cocaine near the end of his career
Maybe some posters on here can tell us more about him?
