After watching Sam Dekker weave between the defence of the Euro Cup teams and score baskets I am very impressed. After watching the BBL for over 25 years, prob the most talented and exciting player for me. I decided to do some research on his background and I have copied an interesting article below if anyone is interested. I hope you can open, sorry I'm rubbish at IT.! prosportsbio.com/nba/sam-dekker-bio/

Certainly the best paid. Heard he gets twice the riders roster not sure how true that is.
Good to see him in the flesh last week scored some incredible baskets

That was fascinating to read. I actually had no idea he had such a career so far.
To be honest I think just playing 5 games in the NBA for a team would be the dream of many basketball players regardless whether they become a big name or not.
I certainly wouldn't call Sam Dekker a failure in any sense. Yes going from the NBA to the BBL maybe regarded as a huge backwards step but to say you played and even sat on the same bench as LeBron James. I'm pretty sure alot of players would be envious of the career he has had and apart from when he plays Eagles I hope he continues to have success.

Interesting article.
My favourite player in the BBL at the moment.
Will be very interesting to see if London can keep hold of him beyond one season.

It's got to be Lions priority to keep a core squad if we want to have a long term impact in Europe. After hearing him speak about how many different coaches he's had in recent years due to trades/moves and constantly having to prove himself, I'd hope he stays put in a system he likes.

I agree with all that. It also appears he enjoys living in London, and is happy raising his 8-month-old son here. Is his wife still a sports reporter for a US cable network? That's the only major 'personal' complication, although if he wants to continue his basketball career, I think he knows that means playing somewhere abroad, so why not London.
