Yeah that’s my interest for BBL done this season. Don’t really see the point watching mis-matches.
I suppose the best part of this season is seeing every other team in BBL level out at competitiveness that anyone can beat anyone.

The league has never been level, some teams make smart moves and build deep squads over a period of time, other have millionaire owners. Neither are teams like cheshire who still win trophies think those days of nix winning trophies are now done think lions owners won’t want little teams like us in the league unfortunately can’t see us getting a millionaire owners and building a stadium in Ellesmere Port only if we moved to Liverpool but there is no interest over there due to the football teams as tigers found out

Lions have a 10 point cushion but I think we can appreciate that Riders are playing really well. This is really high quality basketball in the BBL.

They don’t want to lose any teams from the BBL, and what’s to say Cheshire and Plymouth are small markets? Cheshire doesn’t have any football teams in the league, and Plymouth has Plymouth Argyle FC but they don’t have any other professional sports teams.

Small as in the cities are small. Argyle will be championship and we also have a rugby team significantly better followed than patriots.
Not saying they want to shut them down but their efforts will be focussed on big cities

Lions deservedly win the battle for the future of British basketball, but Coach Paternostro and the Riders deserve a lot of credit for the second half comeback. Don't get the negative talk of mismatches. The league top to bottom is significantly more competitive this season than when Riders ran away with it last year?

Not saying they want to shut them down but their efforts will be focussed on big cities Certainly Patriots are in a more difficult position with Argyle doing really well. Phoenix are fortunate that Chester FC are in a really low league and there are no other professional sports teams in that area.

have you ever been to Ellesmere Port I used to work in Ellesmere Port but I have never been to watch Cheshire Phoenix. so you will know the catchment area is not that big and we also have to compete with Everton and Liverpool whenever they play on a Sunday our attendance goes down we do well to get the crowd we do think we get about a thousand each week but that’s not enough to compete against the likes of London

Totally agree Riders in the past had to try and afford to play in Europe to create a challenge for themselves as the league was becoming too easy to win And we were never going to really compete in Europe Now Lions have brought very good European standard to BBL So now we have a challenge just to win BBL Maybe we focus on finding a way to beat Lions in BBL And let Lions be the ones losing money trying to compete in Europe It works for me I watched last part of the game on youtube We didn't roll over Rob will find a way to beat these guys They are definitely raising the bar in the BBL But we can beat them Last season's Riders could have beat Lions tonight IMO They aren't unbeatable for sure. But anyone who does beat them will feel it's a real accomplishment Lions have improved as the season has gone on. The bar has been raised. The challenge is there

From what Aaron Radin has said he wants to increase centrally generated revenue which will be split equally between the teams, so the fact that Phoenix can’t get more than a thousand spectators should become less of a problem. It’s actually very cool that Ellesmere Port has a top division professional sports team in any sport. Most towns that size don’t have that.

There was pressure on Riders to compete in Europe which is something they couldn’t really afford to do. It’s good that that expectation has been removed.

have you ever been to Ellesmere Port I used to work in Ellesmere Port but I have never been to watch Cheshire Phoenix. It is interesting that Nix gets quite a lot of comments on a thread about a game that they aren't even playing in. Few observations from a long time supporter. Dexter....So why didn't you go to see Phoenix? Plan a visit next time and I'll show you around! If 777 don't really care, when will they get bored of playing the one or two other "big city" left in the league? Big cities/ big populations have a myriad of other attractions. As someone who says hello to almost everyone who attended the games, I am amazed at the distances fans are travelling to watch us in the past couple of seasons , we're not a little local club, smaller perhaps than most. You've definately heard the small but ever increasingly vocal support that follow us very rarely do we hear that noise at the EPSV.

Don't get me started. So disappointing.
