Hi all,
Earlier this week one of our long term supporters Tim Greenfield passed away, He had been one of Riders volunteers for as far back as I can remember. He had unfortunately not been able to attend any games for the last few seasons due to his health. Ill always remember Tim as part of a threesome along with fellow volunteers Chris and Alan, Tim was one of the funniest guys you could ever meet and always had a wise crack for you at every game as he hassled you to buy a match day program from him. One time we’re we’re away at Raiders and Foxy came and sat with one of our more senior lady’s. As quick as a flash Tim shouts out “ Oh what big eyes you have Grandma” We were all in fits of laughter and he continued to keep us entertained for the rest of the game. I for one would like to thank Tim for every thing he has done for our club and also becoming a game night friend. RIP Tim ❤️
Earlier this week Ursula Routledge posted this on social media
Another true supporter of Leicester Riders has sadly passed away this week. RIP Tim has gone to join his good friend Alan 🙏 In their time they both won the BBL volunteer’s award for their wonderful service to our club. Rest in peace lads

That is very very fitting tribute, isthaturinal. Although I've been supporting Riders for some 15 years I can't say I was aware of Tim but may have recognised him if I saw him. Volunteers are the lifeblood of British Basketball and are a big part of the reason why we ordinary fans can just walk in on a matchday and watch the game, without the stress. RIP Tim.

He is a picture of Tim on the left with Alan on the right, for all those that can put a face to the name. Tim sold the match day programs and Alan was with Chris on the door checking entrance tickets.

Very sad rip Tim
Hard to forget his happy cheekiness when he handed over your program through all the Loughborough and John Sandford days

I can only echo what the previous posters have written….
Hope the organisation do something in honour of both of them.

Knew Alan as would always have a bit of banter with him when he checked our tickets. Didn’t know Tim’s name but remember him well. Hopefully they’ll hook up again up there 😀

Just want to say a massive thank you to all involved at the Riders for the 24 second applause before tipoff for such a well liked man. A fitting send off for him.
