After a double winning weekend can't see any reason why Nix shouldn't make it three in a row. Realistically though a very difficult feat no matter what squad of Lions turns up. Cant really see more than cameo performances from several of the squad and hopefully that could leave a chance for Phoenix.

I think Lions to beat Nix and most likely and I'm going to back Scorchers to beat Patriots but feel that one could go either way.
On the current basis of things I'm going to say Glads to defeat Eagles unless last weeks rollicking by Steutel has given this team a much needed boot up the backside.
I wonder if we'll have another suprise new player show up and announced just before tip off. And another player mysteriously dissappear without a mention?
Can anyone even confrim whether Duke Shelton is cut from the team as I still haven't seen any announcement on this?
If he ain't at this game I'm going to assume he's cut.

Cheers I don't follow their podcast but the fact that i have only found out this way is really unprofessional on the Eagles part not to have any mention on the website or social media's. I'm guessing he may have ruffled some feathers on the way out in order to not even get a mention. Makes me wonder if we are signing players on 0 hours contracts or something?

Professional sportspeople are all (in effect) independent contractors not employees. Thats how you can cut players and not having them sue for unfair dismissal for example. Interesting case a few years ago on the matter was when Jess Varnish tried to sue British Cycling after not getting selected for the Olympics if your interested. It's a cut throat business.

Eagles have put a brief statement out now on Duke leaving Well atleast it's now officially confirmed. Although now I still can't believe and really question how it has taken over a week to announce something that looks like it could have been written in 5 minutes whilst sat on the toilet? It's not like we've been busy winning games or anything.

PR/communication at Eagles I'm assuming is a voluntary role It's an example of a professional basketball club run like a grass roots club in some areas Same for many BBL clubs Some have professionals in roles. Many dont This is something that the new CEO of BBL will need to deal with/face if he really does want to improve how BBL presents itself to the public I wonder if it's possible for BBL to employ professionals in different fields that could help multiple clubs at the same time and share the costs The club's themselves can't necessarily afford professionals in all the roles a professional sports club might want if budget allowed And so they can sometimes look poor and amateurish in comparison to other sports clubs

Although recently we have had this with Duke and New signings announced literally just before tip off. I understand the ones before tip off may have been last minute signings. But still everything that has gone on the past 2 seasons and recent times is really making me wonder what on earth is going on behind the scenes right now?

Switching between nix game and Eagles game on youtube
Decent start to halfway from Eagles. Can they maintain? Would be unusual if they did.
Lions might be too good for Nix today judging by the start they've made.

Much improved performance from Eagles IMO for most of the game
Really should have won the game
But just fell away at the end

Yes we looked good until the fourth. Disappointed that Cohn spent so much time on the bench following his fourth foul. We were poor without him. Great game from Bailey though, unstoppable at times.
