Not been contributing a whole lot this season but the shallowest bench in the league just got smaller

Anyone know what the reason is? It says right there he is retiring. Which can mean a number of things. I hope for him personally what it means he must have been given an opportunity so amazing which would be to good to turn down. Or his life circumstances have changed to a point where he has no choice but to leave the game like an injury or family matter. Or he might have simply fell out of love with the game. Either way whilst he wasn't as impactful at the Eagles I wish him all the best. |

Shame for him, talented guy but he's looked really off the pace this season. Wonder if it's injury or just circumstance/fit.
If Giants want another streaky British shooter to fill out their roster I'll drive Mockford down there myself.

Probably just wanted a job that wasn’t minimum wage. Bbl players get peanuts, fun for a few years but I wouldn’t blame him for wanting a better job

Watching him at Giants, it just hasn't felt right from the start.
He hasn't looked anywhere near the player we've seen at Leicester and even Newcastle, and he's part of a weirdly constructed roster where you have three twos/combos behind one of the most dominant SG's in the league in Dirk Williams. So his minutes were always going to be squeezed.
Aside from that, from following their socials the whole team seems really tight - lots of joking, TikTok dances and the like. And he's never been in them at all - which never felt like it mattered until yesterday.
Also worth remembering he went to Harvard - even as a sportsman you have to reach very high academic standards to play there, so he's clearly a very bright guy who'll have plenty of options. If he's not enjoying playing, makes sense for him to look elsewhere.
For Giants probably opens up the option of balancing a roster which has sorely lacked for size and D in the absence of William Lee. Who that is as a Brit is a good question, though...
