Riders still tough opponents despite not firing on all cylinders Scorchers can still turn around the season without their new squad having to beat us so soon 8th place is the target now Not second place Don't you think? I've not seen enough of their games to have an informed opinion. Wang is definitely a great pick up. But I guess I have not seen much evidence of a change in identity or fortunes for the team as a whole? Must be a few BBL clubs jealously looking at Wang ! Where will he be playing next season I wonder? No chance Scorchers will be able to keep him Sadly for them

Good or bad results its going to be enjoyable for Scorchers fans to watch him play this season

It's always hard to tell when people are on the Riders wind up these days, but I guess I'll bite. It's pretty clear that the dynamic without Geno isn't quite right and we aren't the team we were last year. I can't see us cutting Thornton at this stage given there isn't really anything to play for. We will just have to figure out the best way to utilise him. It's also worth noting that over the last 3 or 4 seasons, the Surrey team that ends the season is vastly different to the one that starts it. Their final squad is often far better than their record suggests. Purely based off of Leicesters last two games, Surrey are in a far better place than Newcastle.

I agree Surrey whilst they might not be dominating the league they certainly look more competitive and are moving forward. For the Eagles we started off the season looking like we were going to have an okay season and then in the past month or so the floors caved in from under us. I know between us and Surrey teams would rather play us then face Surrey if they want a better chance of winning.

With a more inventive PG I think we'd stand a chance of silverware in a cup run.
