Lots said about recruitment and Newcastle but the Scottish team with pretty much a rookie coach, take a team of rookies and smash Leicester. How hard can it be? In the old days of just two Americans you bust your ass trying to find a dual national and really needed good Brits. Now you can fill five spots with Americans. Well done Gladiators. New ownership, newish coach, great effort.

Gladdies have 3 experienced Scots who have been around the league a long time will help immeasurably IMO. And then what you get with Rookies is ability but not necessarily consistency.
Eagles have undoubtedly got talented players but it's the team cohesion that's lacking. Team cohesion comes down to coaching, assessment of personality and a little bit of luck.

Gareth Murray has been coach for 2 full seasons in the BBL now. That's invaluable experience when it comes to knowing what you need ability/character/physique wise to compete in the BBL.

It's really not that simple. I think you're doing the coaches who do a good job in this league a disservice.

You use the networks you have built up, take recommendations, do checks with coaches of the players and coaches who went against them, get personal checks and references. It's work but not difficult. Thousands of players out there. But your networks are invaluable.
