Currently watching Episode 2 of this seasons BBL Show and will say I like how they've take it to the next level and changed it up to do the interviews in person and added a few antics.
They even included segments for the WBBL and Wheelchair Basketball. I wondered what everyone else thinks?

I like it, presentation is slick and all seems very nice but it's a bit bland, as is often the case when ex-pros who don't want to offend anyone are involved. I'm glad Marriot is gone and hopefully to never return. Hoping we aren't too far away from the weekly highlights 'Match of the Day'style show.

From what I gathered from Drew when he did the Social Spy I'm assuming Marriot will probably be back. Probably taking some time away after the collapse of the Gloucester Queens. One thing that has surprised me is why they never seem to make references to the show during the Sky Sports Coverage.

I watched the first show and found it quite boring. Too much talk about what they’re wearing. As you’re positive about this I will give it another chance. It’s good that they’re talking about the WBBL and wheelchair basketball. If there was a match of the day type show they could spend 5 or 10 minutes covering the WBBL and wheelchair basketball.

See new people don't realise that Bev came about actually as an NBA forum primarily as she presented god-awful coverage of it on ITV2 back in the day. Now it's synonymous with British basketball which she had little to no involvement with really.
And like everything time moves on and the creation becomes unpopular and starts to rot, which is when you need something else to replace it with. 😇

It's going to be an unpopular opinion I know, but I'm not overly impressed. In fact, as of right now - which I now is only 2 shows in, I think I preferred the 'old' BBL Show.
It's nice to see an improvement in the production values, but my biggest issue with the 'new' BBL Show is that it's now fortnightly and therefore feels more generic and less topical. The second show was better than the first because they brought back things like 'hot topics' and the 'social media spy', but there's no point in reviewing and previewing things if you're only doing one show every two weeks. And here's what's probably going to be a really unpopular opinion, I miss Jay's involvement too. I think Jay and Drew made a good presenting team. I think Jay might be back on the next show though...
Overall, not an awful start, but it needs to be better. It needs to be weekly. And it needs to be more topical to the weeks events and news.

It was bad last season, its god awful now Any recommendations? I enjoy Sunday Night Breakdown but don’t listen/watch anything else. I do miss the Makem Takem podcast though.

Chuck Durus podcast was really good for player interviews but there hasn't been a new episode for ages. Drew Laskers personal 21Media Podcast was pretty good, the 3 part interview with Fab telling his story was one of the best podcasts I've ever listened to. Well worth a listen if you've got a spare few hours. Below the Rim is probably my favourite but more because it's hilarious than insightful British basketball content.

I’ve always thought I should give the Below The Rim podcast a go, but at almost a couple of hours each week it feels like a bit of a commitment. If they did a video version of the podcast on YouTube too (like the ‘old’ BBL Show) I’d probably be more inclined to give it a go, but it appears to be a strictly audio only show.

Just watched episode 3 of the new BBL Show.
Maybe it was the familiarity of having Jay and Drew back together but I thought it was the best one yet. It still needs a few tweaks - the running order is all wrong (why always start with the WBBL news/interview when it’s the BBL show?!), drop the game previews - there’s no point when you’re only ever looking at half the fixtures because it’s fortnightly, and on that note it needs to revert back to being weekly if at all possible.
But it’s certainly improving.

I'm not a fan of the new format and preferred the weekly podcast.
The weekly podcast wasn't perfect by any stretch, but I thought it did a fair job at setting narratives and creating context. It certainly helped introduce me to players around the league and I always enjoyed hearing about what their background in basketball was etc. Didn't care so much about knowing what people's favorite Christmas film was though tbf!
Not really sure what the new format is trying to achieve or who it's aimed at.
