This needs to be a win for Riders to get our league title defence under way. I'm sure Surrey will have other ideas.

Leicester will be hoping to bounce back while Surrey will be hoping to prove some improvement from last season. Beating Riders would be a good way of doing this but I expect Riders to comeback.
Cheshire and Sheffield could go either way. I think Nix looked good last week we faced them but Sheffield are a strong outfit.
And finally Eagles against Pats would be a good win for Eagles especially in the Cup. I like to think we could be stronger then Pats but again could go either way. Look forward to watching this one on catch up on a Sunday night.

No sign of Jackson on the court but Thornton is proving himself to be a very good guard so far - and that's after only one week's practice. Surrey definitely capable of beating us so defence has to be top notch. They're racking up the foul count which will be important in the second half.

Whelan showing his worth to Riders. Kimbal playing well and Thornton really demonstrating he can push the ball and distribute it well. He looks like a very safe pair of hands and I love that he's attack minded.

Hope Jackson's not seriously injured. Solid win for Riders and a very good debut by Thornton. We can play much better but great to collect the win pretty easily despite being a starting five player down. Wang is one to watch and Surrey selling out the venue is good news for the BBL.

So where exactly is the Plymouth Vs Newcastle game being played, Remember Patriots faithful saying they had heard nothing from the club about where their future would be.

So according to Dan Routledge… That ensures an entire decade for Riders without defeat to Surrey (W34, D1). Last loss was 11th November 2012 and the two sides don’t meet again until December.
Not a bad record is it, Almost as good as the last time Plymouth beat us, which is if I recall around September 1981…..🤣

A couple of statistics from tonight's game 40 minutes played 111 points in total scored by the two teams. 31 of those points from free throws. 80 points from open play. Total of 45 fouls called. You said Sharks were bloody awful......agreed. Nix were even worse.

The percentage table is updated with todays results.
It's starting to show who the weakest teams are this season.

Apart from a decent Q1, that is the worst I've ever seen us play at EPSV, with just 29 points in 30 minutes. We were so flat and there simply has to be changes to the side if we're to avoid missing the playoffs.
Phoenix ratings:
Teague: 4/10 - Only played 17 minutes after getting injured early in the 2nd half, solid player who will have better nights. Daniels: 4/10 - Scored 10 points but just doesn't look comfortable at either end of the court. IMHO, after 5 games he's proved he simply isn't a BBL level starter. Austin Jr: 5/10 - Off night for Larry, however alongside Jamell our only real offensive threat with ball in hand. Can't do it on his own, needs much more support. Strawberry: 2/10 - Got very limited minutes but we just can't afford to have an import only play 14 mins (unless injured) and deliver an index of 0. Neighbour: 3/10 - Extended minutes with Mike's foul trouble and Teague's injury, shot the ball poorly and offered very little defensively. Ochereobia: 3/10 - Early foul trouble hurt the team, 2 points in 28 minutes is miles off his usual pace. Evans: 3/10 - Very little influence on the game in his 15 minutes. Anderson: 5/10 - Not Jamell's best night, offered his usual energy at both ends but turned the ball over 5 times, looked very frustrated as he fouled out of the game. Graham: N/A - Didn't play.
