Sadly I just think there is a lack of drive and interest in the Sharks nowadays.
Granted the first 2 games were against very tough opponents but the last 2 have been really quite lacklustre.
Really worrying start to the season I would say. Banks needs to go asap. Showed glimpses against the Giants but he was just entirely absent in the other 3 games. I suspect it’s nerves but if he can’t get over it then there’s no point in him playing.
Nelson looks decent in flashes but wildly inconsistent.
The 3 Bigs for the Sharks need to start producing and quick. I think Koch is the best of the 3 but is getting no playing time. Ogunyemi looks out of his depth unfortunately. Delpeche is fine.
Sharks just need a new coach and have done for years imo. Never gonna happen though.

The worst news for the rest of the league is that neither Rahmon nor Dirk have really got going in this Manchester team yet. Dirk doesn’t quite have his shooting stroke, made a lot of shots he then rimmed; and Rahmon got 7 assists but threw a few balls away simply as the team isn’t totally on his wavelength yet. When those two click they will drop a 40 point win on a team.
Lee and Green deserve the headlines from last night again, but another word from me on Roberson. He’s just a very good professional basketball player. Getting more confident driving the lane, and knows he can beat bigger players in the paint at either end now. He’ll creep up on people as a star player across the season.
Interesting comments on the crowd. Being there it felt a lot fuller, and not just as Cheshire brought a lot.
There’s a few underlying issues the club can’t fix. The venue is a ball ache to get to - you basically have to drive, and that area of Manchester is always busy on Friday evenings as it’s a predominantly Muslim community nearby. That’ll always be a barrier for some.
That said, they are a few steps behind on promotion. My guess is that with the club changeover and ratification some of this was parked to focus on the team first. Like, players will sign up on the goodwill of Vince Macaulay. Marketing agencies and office staff probably won’t.
There seems to be some steps in the right direction though - the game was advertised on big electronic screens in the city this week (first time I’ve ever seen it) and it looks like they’ve been doing photoshoots for new gear.
They need the website sorted though. Front page is a weeks old article and it’s full of broken links - not inviting. And the social needs to be improved - something Jamie nailed tbh.
Oh, and Vince needs to be all over local media ASAP. Needed to focus on court but now has time to indulge his other great skill as a salesman!

I really like the new BBL production and YouTube is a far better streaming vehicle. I also like the option of full game or highlights for later viewing. Credit where it's due, BBL well done.
It is a shame when a club use loud music to try and create an atmosphere. Reminds me of Thames Valley back in the day. Couldn't hear yourself think.

Lyons should have gone a while ago but he will stay no matter what as he's a part owner. Means there is no accountability at all. Jobs for the boys with Montogomery coaching and playing and Backovic coaching. Nepotism amd it stinks.
Koch and Banks complete waste of two import slots.
A proactive franchise acts snd waives both those two ASAP and tells the coach he has to improve or he is out.
Sadly the moribund state of Sharks means Lyons could lose 5 more on the trot and still be as safe as houses.

Giants were great to watch. 3 point shooting was insanely good. Lee was terrific and has got to be in the mix for MVP. However, it was Green's night. He was on fire and a joy to watch. His dunk by passing to himself off the backboard was flat out brilliant. Credit to Vince for assembling a really exciting, entertaining team. Agreed, just got round to watching this. Giants are definitely the real deal so far this season, and it makes our first home game, which unfortunately I can't get to, very enticing.
