Finally understand why he hasn’t joined anyone yet, big shame for him to retire because I think he still had something to offer the BBL, as a player and as a legend, good luck to whatever he goes into now hopefully he’s still involved basketball in someway

Sam Neter saying he has a ‘front office’ job at a team,
EDIT: Dan says it’s a general manager job in the UK

Not surprised now given the decline in his game and how he hasn't signed for any domestic team or announced it. I wish him best of luck with whatever he goes on to do though.

Dan says with the Giants takeover he had minimal contact with them despite having another year on his deal, sounds super unprofessional

Age hits some people suddenly. I’m glad he’s still involved in the game in the UK.

assumed he would retire from GB, but like Kieron and Gareth it feels early to have stepped away from the domestic league as thought still something he could contribute in a squad. However I guess that vast knowledge and experience he has could not be used as a squad player to benefit younger up and coming brits and others if: a) Those players are just not in the squad to help develop - no point having him about to help players that are on bench for zero or garbage minutes, but if we had prospects getting meaningful minutes (especially bigs) I am sure he could have helped them while also contibuting himself on the floor. b) Clubs dont have the income to have a person of his experience in the squad on the cost that would be for the minutes they would utilise him
Looking forward to seeing where he is announced in his new role and how he uses his leadership skills and the respect he has from the community to help move the sport forward.

Sam Neter saying he has a ‘front office’ job at a team, EDIT: Dan says it’s a general manager job in the UK I've not watched/listened yet, but are you saying Dan says he's got a GM job lined up? Who with? I'm sad we didn't get more of him in the BBL, but you have to respect his decision. Shame though, as Vince was clearly in discussions with him about staying with Manchester this season. Dan's decision seems to have been a somewhat recent one.

Yes, Sam asked him what he had lined up and he was a bit reluctant to talk about it but he called it a general manager/operations job, he clearly didn’t want to say who it was with

Joins Scorchers as GM, will be interesting to see if he has any impact on them winning games, which they need to start doing

Not a bad fit for him if he is looking for his next challenge. Nice to see him still involved in the game.
