Sloan has been a joy to watch so far, Lions struggled to stay in front of him

Gladdies have been giving Lions quite a game, Sloan on fire right from the go. Such a shame about the quality of the stream.

No Dekker, no win?

£ions are definitely beatable. Hard luck to Gladiators who were great and didn't give up. The lesson for other teams is that £ondon are not invincible by any means but they are very, very good. Dekker's something else!

What a game! Glad I decided to tune into Wednesday night basketball. Hardlines to the Gladiators it would have been a huge and unexpected upset if they had have been the first team to knock Lions out.
I can only hope after this they tired the Lions out for us come Friday. Perhaps Gladiators might be my dark horse team for this season.

Was a really good game, I said from the start I couldn’t see lions going unbeaten this season, I think there is just too many games and teams are going to have hot nights against them, it just depends if the talent will be able to grind out a win like tonight, Eventually they will get beat, I wouldn’t be surprised if they give one or two players a rest against Eagles so you never know

It’s actually pretty much perfect. London Lions set the bar really high, with some of the best players we’ve seen in the BBL. Every team that’s played them has risen their game.

Quite possibly. An index of 30 against Leicester last time out, and an index of 35 against Caledonia last night. I've seen some questioning on social media whether he's still NBA level talent, and now I'm thinking they might have a point. After two relatively close games I too don't think Lions will go unbeaten the entire season. I never thought they would to be honest. But it'll be interesting to see when, and by whom, the 100% record ends.

Interesting that although London are winning so far, they're not blowing teams away, the games are competitive. I had visions of 30 point blowouts every time but that's not proving the case so far!

Just wait until the shooters start firing on all cylinders 😭 I think also what we'll get is more similar to the Spanish league where the smaller teams play Madrid or Barca and the players are super fired up as they want to prove they've got it against the bigger teams. Sloan and Bailey certainly did last night

To be honest that was what 777 wanted I belive when when the salary cap was removed. Yes they want Lions to win but they are going off the theory of if Lions get stronger then more money will come to the league. And then all of a sudden other teams get more money, stronger players consider the BBL as an option and then all of sudden money is flying into every team. Then the league suddenly is considered one of the best leagues outside the NBA. Again a risky and a very long term dream if you ask me which alot of people have doubts on. But if it does happen then we could potentially be looking at them like they are geniuses.

Well we know the market is there for high level basketball as the NBA games always sold out but would there be a big enough market in multiple cities every week? That's quite a different prospect.

But if it does happen then we could potentially be looking at them like they are geniuses. Exactly. 777 have even said that Lions can only be as big as the BBL allows them to be, and that's why they then acquired a 50% (technically 55%) ownership of the league. Lions are being built as the 'hero' product of the league. An internationally known Lions benefits the BBL, and that then benefits all other teams. As you say, it's a long term plan, and one that might not work... but if it does, Lions, the BBL, and all teams within it could ultimately be winners. I also agree that Lions are the team with the target on their back. Every team they play will be bringing their A game. So whilst every team only has to do this against the Lions, Lions have to do this against every single team. And that why I'm not predicting the continuous blow outs some are, and why I certainly don't think they'll go unbeaten. But all this makes for a very entertaining season.

It's amazing when you think back to the days of the Hemel and Watford Royals at the bottom of the league, what it's morphed into now. Is it actually the same franchise or did one close and another start up somewhere along the way?
