I wonder just how many ‘away’ fans they’re expecting, unless they somehow think these are gonna get 10k+ I think a proper sold out copperbox would have been more sensible, still a very interesting idea though

If its anything like Lativa v GB then the place will be rocking! And a great advert for British Basketball if they can fill it. I think I remember someone on the BBL Show for the Lions saying their was a high demand by away teams for tickets to London.

It also shows that they're ambitious and not afraid to try and make good things happen. Maybe it is a risk but the copper box would be the safe option, they clearly want more and are going after it. It's nice to see someone push the boat out in that respect.

What I like about this is it is a statement that EuroCup games are premium games. Having EuroCup games in London is something special and new. But also this is midweek so Wembley Arena probably wouldn’t be in use otherwise.
Personally I would rather watch London Lions at the Copper Box.

Has there been anything official announced in regards to this yet? Any dates?
My thinking about this is that London Lions are using these Wembley games as a showcase, to entice people to games back at the Copper Box. Nothing more than that at the moment. Having a couple of games on a bigger stage, in an entirely different part of London, is basically an advertising campaign. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. But getting 12,000 people to a mid-week basketball game is going to be a challenge. I suspect there’s going to be a lot freebies/offers going around. There’s no way this won’t end up costing them load of money, but it’s about the bigger picture, and I hope Lions (and the BBL) get what they want from it.

Nothing announced yet but the Buducnost game is only 4 weeks away so they better get a move on

I’m sure nobody else really cares but they still haven’t announced on their Twitter or anything that tickets are available, or that it’s not at the copper box, I wonder if they have emailed the fans who bought season tickets including Europe? I’m beginning to think this is some kind of marketing experiment to see how many tickets they can sell without doing a single bit of advertising
Either that or they are just grossly incompetent, I just went on the AXS website and tried to buy six tickets in the most expensive section admittedly, but it gave me six in row A all next to each other so there is clearly plenty of tickets left available
I’m definitely going but I’m going to hold off on buying tickets because I can smell another freebie coming

For this they have emailed season ticket holders. The line they used was "We will play a few home games out of Wembley Arena this season due to venue clashes"
I think that makes sense to me, it would be odd to try and fill Wembley before we completely sell out the Copperbox

Apparently the Copper Box arena isn’t available next week, and given the minimum venue requirements (which prevents then from using the likes of Crystal Palace NSC) there wasn’t really many, if any, other option than using Wembley Arena. Still, nice that the money is going to a London based charity, and it would be rude not to take advantage of the situation. But yes, this must be costing a fortune.

Bold move to use the game to raise funds for City Harvest - they do a great job redistributing surplus food throughout London. Hope the Lions get some positive PR from this as well as a few more people in the Arena!
