I've edited the title as we already have another thread called 'Riders sign' and if we don't put some separation in it panties will get wet over at Bev.

I've only watched a couple of minutes of footage but I think he looks more "geno-like" than CJ did. Should hopefully be a better fit for how this team is constructed. His 3pt% isn't great, but then neither was Crandall's before he joined us. I hope he's been in with the group long enough to get some gametime tonight otherwise Conner/Kimbal are going to have to have big nights for us to stay competitive.

Rob getting through a lot of guards! Let's hope he lasts longer than CJ.

Interested in Riders fans perspectives on what wasn't working with CJ.
And as for the new guy - blimey.
Bit of a nomadic NCAA career but you don't play for any of those programmes, let alone all of them, without a lot of talent. 26 minutes per game as a freshman under Coach K too. Bit of alright for the BBL!

That's as maybe but the question has to be asked, if he's any good, why is he still available at this point? Most leagues around the world, or certainly Europe, start around the same time I think? So why hasn't he been snapped up elsewhere by now?

So why hasn't he been snapped up elsewhere by now? He averaged an efficient 17 and 5 in Austria last year, I’m sure he’s plenty good enough to play in the BBL I think some agents/players are more willing to wait until the start of the season if they don’t get the deal they want because I think they know at this point teams are a little bit more willing to pay the extra bit of money because they’re getting a bit desperate, not saying that’s definitely what’s happened here but it does happen

Yeah I guess so - its a bit risky as you can end up getting desperate yourself if the right offer still doesn't come along. See it all the time in the NBA, guys turn down multi million dollar extensions to become free agents, only to find their market value isn't what they thought it was and they end up signing a shorter deal for way less money on some cack team. Some guys/agents are just too greedy!
But anyway yes it doesn't mean he's rubbish, but he obviously wasn't offered a fantastic deal anywhere if he was holding out. I suspect he'll be fine though, as you say 17 and 5 in Austria - not sure what the standard there is like but can't be much worse than BBL - suggests he can play at the pro level pretty well.

Yeah obviously super super talented. Literally had his pick of every single college. Duke got him to reclassify to get him in early. I read an article about his move to Duke where they described him as a cross between Tyus Jones (the outgoing ncaa title winning guard he replaced) and Kyrie Irving. Obviously he never reached those heights after a promising first year.
Seems like a much better fit with this roster than CJ.
Let's hope he works out better than Mustapha Heron...the last 5* HS player we brought over.

He certainly appears to have the pedigree, but seems to have some difficulty fitting in to the different environments he finds himself in.
Let's just hope he fits in well at Riders.

Reckon Rob will have made it pretty clear what he wants from his #1 PG. If he is talented and buys into the team first ethos he should do well.
