Veeeery early days still, but Scorchers’ loss to Cheshire looked eerily similar to last season:
- No rebounds - No defence - Players missing/sat on the bench in street clothes
Hopefully some of those missing players will be involved and the new regime can start properly from Sunday. Appreciate it may take more time to gel though as Wang and Johnson only just flew in.

At least the Scorchers have got those players in the country but it does s look like being another long season for them.

Pleased that Nix have got early season games against teams possibly around them come the end of season league table. Hopefully Eagles are still struggling to find a successful squad and we should beat them this weekend. No news as far as I can see regarding Larry's injury sustained last week end but Nix's work in the paint could prove decisive if Eagles have to keep rolling dear old Darius out for extended minutes ( provided he doesn't foul out in 15 mins)!

I hope we can win today especially with Lions coming up next week. I think we played well apart from the 4th Quarter but so early in the season it could go either way. Look forward to following it on YouTube. I wonder what reception Mockford will get as well.

This Giants-Patriots game has started terribly, like a pick up game between 10 people who have never met
Shame to see so many empty seats too

The coverage for Nix vs Eagles is terrible. Was tripping and now it's completely crashed out. ☹️

We need a better half against the Nix. To many turn overs so far and giving Nix open 3's. Hope for a better 2nd half.

Well better team won between Eagles and Nix was gutted when Mockfords 3 missed at the end.
I doubt we will beat London next week and I know 0-2 isn't a good start but on the positive side atleast we manage to comeback even when we were almost down by 20.
If this had have been Mac and last season we would have gone down and just stayed down maybe even allowed us to go down by 30. But atleast what I'm seeing so far is a team that is trying hard and giving its all.
Who know we did inflict Londons first league loss last season after a terrible performance the previous weekend against Sheffield. Wishful thinking but perhaps if we learn from these 2 games maybe next game maybe Steutel will somehow manage to pull the rabbit out the magician's hat.

This Giants-Patriots game has started terribly, like a pick up game between 10 people who have never met Shame to see so many empty seats too From what I have seen so far this season, all teams have had packed arenas (Copper Box’s top tier aside) except for Manchester. I expect uncertainty surrounding the Giants is to blame. I was half expecting them to fold.

I expect uncertainty surrounding the Giants is to blame. I was half expecting them to fold. Last two weeks the EPSV has been very full for the Nix home games. . Last week we had a 15 minute delay to the start as there still were so many queuing outside to buy tickets. Long may it continue.

That Eagles team is not good. So little productivity from the forward line again. Lions may as well send their Barking Abbey team to take care of business at this rate.

Giants looked liked the package that was advertised tonight. Comprehensively outplayed a team many view as one of the stronger in the division and who defended very well for long periods. And that’s with no Johnson available and Dirk Williams not yet reaching peak performance.
Green and Lee will rightly take all the plaudits but was good to see Roberson amongst the points too. He’s been quietly excellent in every game - plays excellent defence and does a lot of support work on offence. He’ll be a huge player for MCR this year, filling the role Jamell has played.
Antonio Williams though. Man he’s good. Bell for Plymouth looks a very decent player too.

Phoenix looked really good in the 1st half tonight, took our foot off the gas in the 2nd after we went 17 up which very nearly cost us. IMHO, that's the worst Eagles team to come to EPSV, a couple of their imports just aren't at the races.
Phoenix ratings:
Teague: 8/10 - Very good performance, aggressive going to the basket, perfect 7/7 from the FT line, solid on defence. Looks a decent signing at 4. Daniels: 7/10 - Much improved in the 1st half after looking a long way off the pace in the first three games of pre/regular season - shot the ball well and distributed nicely. Faded in the 2nd half and looked a yard short of pace on both ends, hopefully we'll see more of the 1st half performance in future. Austin Jr: 5/10 - Didn't look comfortable, only played 16 mins. Hoping recovery from injury will be swift as Phoenix will need him at full strength against better teams. Strawberry: 6/10 - Mixed performance - comfortable on the ball, distributed well but not enough of an offensive threat. Will need to take on much more of a scoring role if Nix are to trouble the better teams in the league. Neighbour: 6/10 - Did OK, knocked down two important threes but didn't offer a lot outside of the high pick and roll. Noticeably poorer rebounding when he replaced Ochereobia. Ochereobia: 5/10 - Quiet game with limited minutes for Big Mike, looked good in the 1st half but sat out a lot of the 2nd half, which coincided with a dip in defensive intensity / rebounding. Evans: 6/10 - Solid contribution in backup role, will be an asset to the team throughout the season. Anderson: 7/10 - Typical all action display, knocking down some crucial scores in the 2nd half alongside his trademark defense. Graham: N/A - Didn't play, given how reliable Robbie was for us last year, I'd like to see him get a few minutes.
