sport should proceed - otherwise it is just a sign of the peasant and serfs being controlled while the high brow get on with it. Ok some of that line is tongue in cheek, but it does feel that way at times.
Theatre has issued this (one of the larger theatre groups): Everyone at Ambassador Theatre Group is saddened to hear the news that Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II has passed away. We send our condolences to the Royal Family and everyone connected to Her Majesty. Performances will be going ahead as planned.

I can see no reason why any BBL games should be postponed or cancelled today. People are free to go or not as they wish. Riders playing a game isn't disrespectful - I'm pretty sure a minute's silence will be observed in the queen's honour.

I don't understand the logic of playing behind closed doors. Either play the game or don't. Neither is disrespectful. This is a completely empty gesture that makes zero sense.

The fear of criticism of this whole thing is ridiculous. Eagles game moved behind closed door too, but tomorrow is still on.

I can't make the other friendly games so this was my one chance to see CJ Jackson before the season. Think it is ridiculous to play behind closed doors without spectators. Perhaps we should all wear sackcloth and ashes too?

Riders playing a game isn't disrespectful - I'm pretty sure a minute's silence will be observed in the queen's honour. It was the individual club's decision for any basketball not happening - the guidance published on the gov site is clear, if wish to play then that's ok. Rocks played their opening game at the Scottish Invitational tonight, with spectators present. I'm at pre-season referee workshop on Sunday and the final part of it is watching the Rocks v Belfast Star game at the tournament. The EIHL opens this weekend - they have proceeded with the games and showing respect at the games. Something you can't collectively do if the games are off or behind closed doors. Tricky decisions for all league managements - glad not in that role.

Tight, competitive game. Kimbal led the way with 16. Loving 14, almost all of them in the 2nd half. CJ had 8 points and 8 boards. A few TO but it was his first run out. Conner 9/6/6 off the bench.

Not saying he'll step in and be as good as Geno but I'd read more in to the 2 full seasons he played in Sweden rather than the 7 minutes he played in Israel. Do we judge him for his time at riders or ignore that too?

Do we judge him for his time at riders or ignore that too? Haha yeah definitely ignore it. In his defence, he turned up injured so we never got to see what he could do. What he could've done fully fit we will never know. Reckon he was maybe just not the right fit. Hard to know how much of this was his injury but the one thing that was really noticeable was our lack of dribble penetration in our pre season. Need someone with the ability to get in to the lane. Hopefully thornton does that.
