Not massive news but Greg Wild will not be returning to Riders,
He’s signed to play with Manchester Magic,
Good luck Greg !

As his deal was mainly with Loughboro Uni, it does suggest the move may not be purely for basketball rasons.

So, now might be a good time to tell supporters who's going to be our #1 PG. I can't see any reason to hold back on his name unless...there isn't a signing to replace Crandall yet. I don't buy the idea it is being held back to maximise impact for ticket sales. If anything, NOT releasing a signing's name could deter some supporters from buying season tickets.

He did, but as most of his playing time was in the Loughboro program, I'd not be surprised if thee move is due to non basketball reasons.

The original article stated that he has signed for the riders but has an option to play for Loughborough.
Hes been cut but you cant carry someone not good enough if you want to play in europe. Wonder if he struggled with uni perhaps?

Anyone know what Evan Walshe is doing this season?

Drip feeding signing news over the course of the off season is pretty standard practice. There are teams in the league with a lot more left to announce than Riders. It wouldn't really be that shocking if we're still working on Geno's replacement. I doubt we dragged our feet too long announcing his departure and that was only a few weeks ago. When Walshe joined the club last season it sounded like the plan was for him to start a course at Loughborough this year and remain a part of our bench. Dunno whether that's actually what's happened. And don't think he's quite good enough to fill Geno's shoes regardless

Evan Walshe no longer qualifies for a u23 spot so cant play in bbl and d1. I do think hes good enough for bbl though!

Do you really think so? I've renewed mine every season before a single player has been signed apart from when Ian Whyte had a two year deal. Support your team no matter what, isn't that the definition of a fan?

Like you, I sign up every year as soon as tickets become available. But, not everyone feels the same as us. Crandall's return last year may have induced some to sign up. It's worrying that we still don't appear to have a #1 PG training with the team. There isn't long now till the season begins - thank God. Missed it a lot.

You'll always get the fair weather floaters but obviously can't really complain when they sign up as the club's need the money.

Funny that, I'm not worried at all that you don't have a point guard yet😜. Naaa, Rob will sort it, kind of what he does. Yes, I'm looking forward to watching again. Even plan on attending but might wait until I've had my C19 booster.
