There's obviously some odd stuff going behind closed doors with Lowe and Horton both leaving.
I've been to every WBBL home game this year and never understood why Lowe had such little playing time, especially when they'd struggled so much for scoring. She was one of their most influential players last year in the playoff run. She seemed to be well liked within the organisation and was very involved with a lot of what the club was doing in the community, all very odd.
Pleasantly surprised to see a bit of ruthlessness from the Eagles, as the WBBL team is beginning to build up quite a following.

I mean for a player to leave their team after making a final unless injured or something like the Covid issues which caused the Eagles men to lose 4 players the day before the Trophy Final in 2020 makes no sense unless your offered a ridiculous offer and good money to go elsewhere.
Plus with our set up at the arena it must have been something like lack of playing time that would make a player want to leave especially mid season?
Although if things start going south in the ladies team then it's certainly a tough time to be an Eagles fan!

From looking at the article and seeing the quote jump out as "The move follows the departures of a number of senior players earlier this month and recognises the need for a new direction during the second half of the season." I'm sort of questioning what sort of direction they're looking at since the ladies have made a final whilst the mens team hasn't so far this season? With less the 2 weeks as well I wonder who they're going to get to replace him at the helm as whoever it is will also have to contend with the fact theiro first match is going to be a Cup final game? Talk about bad timing. Just doesn't seem like something the Eagles organisation would do without a real good reason? |

The statement simply says they've ' parted company'. |

It’s all very strange, Lowe was often to be seen on game nights handing out flyers for the WBBL ETC & was a key player, next thing you know she’s gone?? 🤦♂️

Only those 'in the know' will have any idea what has happened. Maybe best that way anyway, as it all seems rather sudden. |
