Any links to what it's going to look like? I have seen pictures of the new stadium for Sheffield Eagles rugby league club and it's really nice.

Great news for another team to have their own arena, I think I am right in saying though that sharks have struggled to get people through the door is this likely to change with the new arena?

It looks like its at the site where the Institute of Sport is - outside the city centre, but not inaccessible.

Good to see another arena being built. Would be slightly worried how they're going to fill it considering the pitiful crowds they get at the moment. Newcastle and Leicester had already built a sustainable fanbase before taking the plunge with their arenas so it will be interesting to see how they approach this.

One thought I had is that it's going to be at a dedicated sports site already well established, so you'll get sporty types around the vicinity and with the right marketing could attract them to think about trying going to a game. Secondly, it's in the north part of the city, well away from the 2 football stadiums and in a fairly deprived area - not suggesting poorer people are the market, but games are way more affordable than the football and the venue will be easier to reach so there could be a whole new fan base who wouldn't have travelled to Ponds Forge but may well go here.

They had no problems getting decent crowds to Sheffield Arena. With the right marketing it shouldn't be a problem now.
