So now it's all over, what do you reflect back on from the season? What's been the highlight, biggest surprise, disappointment, etc?

Best Riders squad I've seen by some way
And we've had some great squads in the past
If we can do Europe and keep this group together we will compete far better than last time
Biggest disappointment is not doing the clean sweep as this squad was definitely capable of doing it whilst not distracted by Europe

Best bit will always be how well London did in Europe. Was a huge step forward for the bbl to have teams win in Europe.
I feel like Geno is becoming a bbl star in the sense that he's not necessarily just known as the riders pg or the mvp, he adds that little bit more. Hopefully he stays for a few more years to really build on this and hopefully Leicester and the league give him opportunities to build on this and make more money through a variety of different routes.
The biggest shock will be how poor Surrey were. They had issues but it really was a poor showing from them, even in Surrey standards.
Great to see so many legit gb players in the league.
As a neutral having sky dictate which game I watch each week has been great too

Disappointments: losing Worcester Wolves. Surrey Scorchers being really bad. Vince parting ways with London Lions.
Things to be pleased about: London Lions’s performance and results in Europe. Leicester Riders playing such a high standard of basketball. The final, big crowd, fantastic basketball, close game. 777 Partners investment and commitment. Increase in funding from Sport England. High quality production by Buzz16 and Sky Sports, extended. Plymouth basketball team surviving.
Next season hopefully both Leicester Riders and London Lions will be in FIBA Europe Cup. Hopefully we won’t lose any BBL teams and will instead get some more.

Well theirs alot I could say but to keep it brief.
My biggest disappointment was the Eagles season was a disaster and it was no fun watching us get our backsides handed to us weekly. But I hope we learn from this and get stronger next year.
However the league in general asides losing Worcester Wolves franchises and Surrey Scorchers struggling in the league. I have enjoyed the league coverage and seen some great games this season on TV.
And while watching us lose week in week out wasn't great it felt great to be back at the arena and see it in person. Especially when beginning of the season we were all worried the league could struggle or even go back to closed doors. I'm thankful it never did and we got through it.

On a seperate note I would also like to thank Sam H for stepping up and saving the BBL forum by creating a new and better board.
It feels great that we now have a place where we can talk about basketball rather then petty personal squabbles that meant nothing to most of us.
I think looking at the life on this board compared to the old one which no longer exists I would say this board has been a success. And long may it continue to be that way.

Yep very good point, I really cannot remember a single argument being had on here, I actually forgot just how bad the old place was
Back on topic I think it’s been a good season, Patriots improvement really made getting into the playoffs an interesting race, which considering only 2 teams miss out is pretty impressive in itself, and Riders domestically and Lions in Europe have both given us some great moments too

Highlight for me was our home game against Lions where we showed just how good we could be. Lowlight was the wheels falling off just two games later. It's the hope that gets you...

You can say that again, mate that was probably where our season peaked! That and when we beat Manchester but they were games we didn't expect to win but did. The only team I felt we surrendered to were Leicester as all 3 games we were whitewashed and it got boring in the 2nd half. The other loses were poor and we didn't look competitive and only stuck around but ended up being a game of waiting for magic to happen that never came. On another note now the season is over and the Lions were Trophyless will they get Europe now is the question I'm wondering? Although things fell apart they did do well on the European stage. And if they have no Euro ball then what Lions team will return? Had that Lions team showed up at the Trophy Final then yesterday's match could have been Cup Champs vs Trophy Champs.

Having all games free on BBL Player as well as Sky coverage of live games was great. Never watched so much BBL basketball as this season. Saw all of our away games and loved watching other teams play too. Coverage on the app improved as the year progressed and commentaries were also enjoyable too. Sky was uniformly excellent. What's not to enjoy?

All ten BBL sides need to do an end of season review, into all aspects of their operations, to develop viable plans how they can improve for next season on and off court,
Key questions include how to improve on court, how do we improve our matchday experience for spectators, how do we attract more comercial partners?

Yes this and maybe something about increasing their profile within their city. Do people in Leicester know the Riders just won the triple? Do Londoners know their city has a professional basketball team playing in Europe? Obviously some do some don't. Also making good merch available in their city and online.

London need to do this more than anyone else. Their lack of merchandise this season (and last) has been appalling. I got excited when I saw them advertising jerseys now available from their online shop on the courtside advertising at the play-off final... only to try the website given for the online shop and for it to not exist. What a wasted opportunity, in front of the Sky cameras too.

I understand that the Riders Merchandise operation has been much improved and totally revised this year, including a new retail outlet.
I'm unsure of the situation with other clubs, but I'd hope that Bristol have their items in a joint retail outlet with Bristol City and Bristol Rugby, it would be the logical thing to do.

I have just asked a broader question about London on a new thread. Eagles have a club shop and a web shop. We also get decent coverage on BBC Newcastle and the local papers.

I think they probably do, but when (if) they build their basketball arena at Ashton Gate they will have so much more potential for having an amazing merchandise shop.

How many clubs in the BBL offer added value tickets, premium seating or "corporate" hospitality options?

How many clubs in the BBL offer added value tickets, premium seating or "corporate" hospitality options? Eagles have a huge corporate section that always looks sold out. I think they have space for 200-300 people in the hospitality suite. Maybe more, not sure on exact numbers.

Thats good, it will give a higher yield per seat, plus any profits from the catering.
