I have no idea if they'll get more fans but I agree with having a 1600 capacity arena. That's a good size, about the same as Glasgow Rocks's Emirates Arena sports hall. There would be no point in having somewhere they're going to outgrow.

Yes if it’s only 300 extra seats I can’t see anyway anyone could think that is too big lol, considering the Patriots are pretty well supported and as the article says managed to sell out a couple of times last year, I’m guessing the new place will be more financially viable as well so this can only be a good thing, unless it’s in a crap location I suppose

looking at articles that mention capacity at Pavilions around 1400 - I get the impression this is about they have a venue for 2022/23 identified and it would have a capacity slightly lower than Pavilions but the club have identified a way to have a slightly larger capacity that Pavilions and are trying to make that work.

Well it's really promising to see BBL clubs making some early moves before the off season has even started. Really happy that the Patriots managed to turn things round and I hope they continue to grow and get a great venue.
Whilst I had never been to Plymouth I did like the look of the Pavillions and thought it quite a unique looking building from the inside.
