I saw in another thread it's 2 home and 2 away games for each team in BBL next season
Does that suggest we are going down to 9 BBL teams?
27 League games this season
If we still have 10 teams that would mean 36 League games next season
That's a big jump?
4 games in a 9 team league gives 32 league games. Still a jump

If they were dropping to 9 I imagine they wouldn't make reading wait a year

The Rocks have started advertising their season tickets for next year, they have stated a minimum of 18 games so assume 10 teams and 2 x 9 games.
They also stated that cup and trophy games are not included as they are knockout comps next season, so cannot guarantee will have a home draw. So looks like a earlier start for the league and no more home and away early season games.

Cup and Trophy games should be just a straight knockout Playoffs stay as they are If successful in all the above then you are looking at 46 games ish With Europe to add in |

This season if Riders make it to Playoff Final we will have played 45 matches in league, cup, trophy and playoffs
So it ends up similar
Just more meaningful league matches to replace the meaningless cup games at start of season?

If it was 777 decision with Europe in mind maybe they thought less games could make it easier for London Lions to compete in both Europe and the BBL. If London are planning to give it another go next year. |
