Had a bit of a rant on twitter as the game being in Newcastle (again) on a Monday night means its pretty much inaccessible for fans unless they live fairly local or are lucky enough to be off work, wanted to know your thoughts.
Appreciate its a fantastic arena, great atmosphere and GB have a great record there. Just miffed it's another game I have no chance of making. Could they not do a couple games more central (Birmingham? Leicester? Worcester)

How do you know this game is in Newcastle?
As I live here and have seen 2 wins for 2 from GB I sure hope it is again especially how this season is going for the Eagles. Although I need to get the time off work in order to make it though.

Newcastle is central if you take into account GB includes Scotland and Northern Ireland. Also imagine (as well as points you made about a guaranteed sell out, record, atmosphere) cheap flights and accommodation probably has something to do with it too.

happy with this, although i wont be able to make it like you bullets92 you defo cant argue against the atmosphere they create up there. The good thing is home game number 3 is a sunday which means we should all have a much better shot of making it where ever they choose to play that one

Canโt blame them really as itโs a decent sized arena, And just a good arena all together, and they know it will sell well there, as long as the next games are somewhere down south or more central anyway I will not complain, itโs a shame though because if it was anywhere remotely realistic for me to travel and return on the same day I would have gone

I can see why people would be a bit peeved but I feel Newcastle is a good option, especially if you're from Glasgow, you'd want good support and I know it's hard on people from other parts of the country but it'll end up making people unhappy wherever they choose to play.
It's especially harsh considering the Trophy gets held in Glasgow and it doesn't make sense to have it up here unless Glasgow are in the Final. If it's 2 English teams then why not have it somewhere more central? But then how far in advance could you do that to make it work, factoring in tickets and travel plus accommodation?

I think it's also about filling the arena as well. The past 2 times the ECA has sold out which means for the away team is a more intimidating place to play. And we all know how passionate and well backed the Eagles are so you know your going to get alot of fans through the door just from the Eagles alone. I remember last time Howard was trying to pitch an after party which I had never seen done before during the Eagles matches. I never went as I was working the following day and probably won't again as I have to work again this time as well. Just wondered if this something GB do alot as I suppose Newcastle is a great city for night out?

Purpose built court that sells out in the city with the most trophies in British history.
London is a nightmare, Leicester a possibility same as Birmingham but how many basketball fans do those cities have compared to Newcastle? Something 1000 kids every weekend in their cvl.
It's the most sensible place to hold it and if you disagree you're probably looking at if you could personally make the game and not the other 70 million people in Britain
