When was the last time Newcastle didn't make the playoffs? In fact when was the last time they didn't make the top 4? Actually when was the last time a team who won the playoffs didn't qualify the following year ?

Just looked at the box score for Surrey's latest spanking at Manchester - couple of the Yanks now seemed to be missing - is there any advantage to cutting them this late in the day? Even if it saves a few quid, won't that saving be offset by bad feelings and a bad rep that could deter future imports from joining them?
