Very one sided so far. Feels strange watching a BBL game in the sun of LA :-)

Where's the Newcastle pride? Pitiful! Left it on a bus somewhere 😥. Eagles look very tired, little to no defence and shooting practice for Riders. Still, a little rally at the end of q2.

Well so far I'm surprised we're still in this (sort of) Rob must be annoyed they haven't put us away yet.
Leicester not had many fouls but then again they don't foul alot and we aren't putting them in a position to create contact. They are practically letting us shoot the ball at times and then bang on in at the other end.
On to the 3rd Quarter!

This is terrible, Newcastle look exhausted and Leicester are still in 2nd gear

A sellout crowd at Eagles should mean it's closer than you guys expect Normally I wouldn't rule out Eagles winning at home But if Fletch has got to play close to 40 minutes and Defoe close to 30 minutes in the end they are going to get outworked I expect a strong start from Eagles but Riders to take control at the end Eagles shouldn't be able to cope with our energy and intensity as the game goes on Any Eagles fans daring to watch on here Do your best to stay til the end!! Sellout crowds or being on Sky has had no impact on the manner in which this team plays this season. I'm expecting to be destroyed tonight and I'm just looking forward to seeing Geno in the flesh. Would be very surprised if the score is anything less than a 25 point blowout to Riders. Prophetic!

Not sure we were THAT good - rather that with the exception of Gordon & Fletcher, Eagles were very poor. A lack of intensity (translation: effort) really hurt Newcastle.

(RANT ALERT!) Well I'm almost lost for words. If this game does not signify the end of coach Mac I will be amazed! As from an Eagles perspective it was about as exciting as watching the 2am late night shopping channel!
First off Well done to Leicester brilliant, probably Robs easiest win in Newcastle let's be honest. The fact they played their 2nd unit or the whole 4 quarter which could easily be a starting 5 on any other BBL team shows why this team is leaps and bounds ahead of the rest of the league.
Absolute master class as well in being able to play defence without fouling. They let us get easy looks but since we were missing we didn't exactly worry them. And even if we did score they just killed our momentum by scoring straight down the other end. If they kept that first unit playing they probably would have won by 60+.
As for the Eagles great first 5 minutes and it was south from there. Justin Gordon and Fletch are the only 2 players playing their heart out. Despite his award I dedication Defoe is clearly past it and clearly this group doesn't work and Mac doesn't know how to steer it. We may as well have gave Leicester the keys to arena mid way through the 3rd and said "it's your house now" the way they schooled us.
It was great that their was no boo's tonight after the match. But looking around at the crowd right now it's sad to see such proud passionate fans so depleted. At HT when I went to toilet I could smell the scent of alcohol in the foyer area which suggest beer sales must be going through the roof this season by that's it. We had nothing to celebrate and it's started to be like that most games now.
And on another note whoever the genius at sky or in the BBL who thought this was a great game for TV was an absolute fool. I was tempted in the 2nd half to go down to the commentary with the Bristol v London game on my phone and say to Dan "THIS IS THE GAME THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON!" as I can imagine neutrals and even Leicester fans must have been bored watching this. And considering our track record this season and the other games on this was a terrible decision for TV choosing.
Again well played Leicester and Rob tonight. If by some miracle we make the playoffs I dread to think what this Leicester team will do to us in a 2 leg match up. If they don't win the league and the playoffs I will be surprised.

Deep athletic squad v weak old squad More predictable than ever Same again next season please! The gulf in class is huge. This game has persuaded me that the coach has to go. Not the result, but just watching the way both coaching teams operate is like night and day. The Leicester bench is a hive of activity and passion, demanding the absolute best at all times. It was really a joy to watch, especially compared to the uninspiring mess that was the home bench. This Eagles team are an absolute shambles and an embarrassment.

Old team? I'm older than all but one of them, I thought I was still relatively young. Cheers irf, ruined my Friday night with that

It's ok Paul Blake was there to see it the same as you and will apparently know what to do to sort it Enter Matt Newby!! That's the answer IMO Maybe he's already lined up? Second or maybe third best coaching job in BBL right now He would have to be tempted

Our starting lineup would barely make your bench. Time to rip it up and start something new. Tonight was probably my last game of the season. I'll be waiting to see what happens in the summer before renewing my season ticket, that's for certain.

Well, Leicester were as good and well coached as expected, and Eagles were as bad as expected.
I have faith in Paul & co sorting it out, so will be first in line for a new season ticket, but some fairly fundamental changes are needed for Newcastle - despite this season’s assorted misfortunes this season’s team has simply not been good enough.
My frustration tonight was that Leicester went on a 26-2 run either side of the end of Q1 without a timeout being called. That just doesn’t make sense - by the time coach called t/o the game was long gone.
And the smell of beer downstairs was probably the pint I dropped - you know when it’s not your night…..
