casualhook agree.
The owners have presumably sloshed a whole wadge of funds this season (and last) for next to no domestic success.
Just think what Paternostro could do with the Lions budget...
And they can't even get the basics right - take a look at their latest game preview on their own website where they call themselves London Linos!
Farcical
Still don't know why 777 are involved when they seem so disinterested or incapable of properly marketing what ought to be a fabulous proposition.

I thought this was a joke until I saw their was an actual link to go with it. I'm a little gutted for him as, don't think I have seen a coach have a shorter reign in the BBL.
Although having said he didn't exactly grasp the opportunity and the team was very unmotivated especially in the final. I really wonder what 777 are going to do now with making a bid for the playoff final.
I would love to see someone from 777 appear on the BBL Show. I wonder if Lions fans should be worried as this is starting to become similar to the Royals?

I don't know why Lions (if they have the amount of money they say they do) don't just go and get a compotent European coach. Can only assume they already know who the coach is going to be next year but he's not willing start yet. What happened to that American guy who went on the hoopsfix podcast and was supposed to be their GM? Vincent Lavandier would be a good start as someone who knows the BBL and Europe. Or get Fab (and Forrester) 🤔

I agree, a real sense of no one having a clue what to do right now. Why they didn’t keep Vince as Head Coach until the end of this season I really don’t know.

Wade has years of NCAA D1 experience, most recently with Louisiana State this season. But he has a history of recruiting violations, which led to his most recent exit. Just a rumour though, I’ve seen absolutely nothing from any credible source.

3 head coaches in one season
Is that a record?
Can the new guy survive the next month?

tough one - your squad are on an underperforming streak, don't pull it together in the Trophy final and then coach not at next two games as not well. Then a statement saying for personal reasons has left - I hope the rumours some have posted about interference from higher echelons of the organisation have not caused health issues.
on the plus side - great to see coach Vear has the opportunity to go back to his Barking Abbey role and continue his own development and that work he was doing there. Would have looked even worse than it does if he had after a short spell at LDN been cast aside and not had a path back.
As all said at the time - a mid season change of coach with Vince departing was a strange one. Tough for anyone to inherit a squad someone else recruited for their style and playbook.

Lions are becoming a shambles and I still worry that 777 aren't in this for the long haul. Definitely has the flavour of London Royals about it. Here today but not tomorrow. As a fan of basketball I don't want any team to fail as an organisation. Was sorry to see Wolves drop out of the top division and am also concerned for Plymouth. Let's hope I'm wrong and things settle down for Lions.

For a start they just need to have some attention to detail and get the basics right. After that they need to consider the best way to spend the considerable funds they seem to have access to, whether on off-court matters, on players or on a Coach commensurate with the budget. Imagine what Paternostro could do with their budget...

Imagine what Paternostro could do with their budget... Weve spoken a lot about culture at various BBL clubs recently Rob is rightfully the highest earner at Riders for a reason He's by far the most important and valuable wage earner at the club At Lions and Eagles I have no doubt the current coaches are paid less than some of their players Obviously if you are going to allocate a lot of your budget to wages for a coach they have to be the right coach But are other BBL clubs guilty of not getting it right from the top down?

Imagine what Paternostro could do with their budget... Exactly. I think some of us, myself included, are perhaps a bit too harsh on Lions sometimes. But that's only because expectations are (rightfully) so high. Sometimes they way we talk you'd think they're on a level with Surrey, or even Newcastle, this season. They aren't. There's still a good chance they'll finish this season with the second best record in the league this season. The only issue is, with their budget and resources they really should have the best record in the league.

Remembering that this is Vince's team is it possible that Lions superstars did not respect Vear? That kind of stress can quickly affect your health and would also explain the poor performances.

if you check his latest book recommendation - I'd maybe consider the organisation as a cause before the players
