More space is always good. Will it increase capacity? Also do you know how it's being funded and will it affect the rent?

How many bricks have you paid for in this arena?

More space is always good. Will it increase capacity? Also do you know how it's being funded and will it affect the rent? The capacity of the main arena will stay as it is. The extra space will be to allow the arena to put on bigger events. Looking at the plans and taking a guess I would think that the extra ,space would be for the storage of kit and flight cases. The extra space will also allow our foundation teams to have dedicated courts instead of using the main arena ones. No idea about costs but if Kevin Routledge is involved it will be fine.

Only downside is parking is going to be a nightmare, Get down the day before to ensure a space. Lol

Only downside is parking is going to be a nightmare, Get down the day before to ensure a space. Lol I am disappointed Soulsby insisted on this site for our venue. Why on Earth would anyone build a 2500 seat capacity arena with virtually no parking area of its own? It's ridiculous and means that parking as you rightly say is a nightmare. We are relying on local businesses to allow parking on their forecourts and that's not good in the long run.

On the upside to the location of the arena, There is a cracking bridge with a wonder cycle path on it going over to Abbey Park, We all know how much Soulsby loves his cycle paths…. We must have basically be given the ground to build the arena on with the thought of…….they’ll find somewhere to park

I've always found a space to park easily enough even when the arena was sold out
Even though it's not official parking I realise
We are fortunate that when we play all the nearby businesses with parking available are closed of course
So we get away with it

Gentleman, behave please, or we'll start calling you D*B & H*rsey :-) Fellas, we need to be able to distinguish between friendly banter and nastiness, I hope your post was tongue-in-cheek. It made me smile anyway, and I suspect Stevetino also enjoyed it.

Good comeback IRF but I think it was just last season when we added two trophies to the cupboard. Wish it had been the league instead though.😉

Funny mac isn't it that this is probably Leicesters best ever season and they'll only win a max of 2 trophies which in irfs eyes is reason to be rubbish/not as good as they were/ time to get rid of their head coach

I hope IRF is sitting down when he reads that!😉 However playing IRF at his own game, is it because Riders are so good or is the rest of the league so poor? Eagles certainly are poor this season.

Bit of both I agree Genuinely though looking back I feel the same about the Eagles team I watched win everything one season Yes they were good But looking back the opposition back then were weak and lacked any depth Much harder to win a slam in recent years IMO

I realise I'm straying off topic here so apologies for that. But I personally think the league is without doubt as strong as its been in recent times.
Not going to run through every team but...
Cheshire have/had 2 GB guards plus Riders' leading scorers from 2 years ago on top of Larry Austin Jr. And they're bringing a guy who averaged 15 and 8 in the Pac-12 off the bench. And they are below .500.
Manchester have Dan Clark...and he's possibly not their best player.
Lions have an incredible amount of talent. On paper one of the best squads we've seen in 20 years. Obviously falling apart at the seams at the minute and weakened with no Washburn but still a load of talent there.
Eagles have Fletcher, Person, Johnson, Peel, Gordon and Defoe. And are below .500 and could still miss the play offs. They won't. But they could. I get that they've had problems this year. But they are some good players and they could finish 9th in a 10 team league.
I personally just think Riders have been really good across the season. They took a title winning squad and significantly upgraded their team in the off season.

I guess when you put it like that it's very convincing Eagles and Lions perhaps struggling because other teams they would normally beat are stronger And they aren't being coached as well as they could be at same time perhaps?

You can recruit as much talent as you like but if they cannot play as a team you're in trouble. Eagles and Lions cannot and Riders can. Deservably running away with the league.
