Third game in five days but at least it's at home. Lions will want to wipe out the memory of their heavy defeat against us on their home court. They also defeated Surrey so despite it being a dead rubber they'll be looking to get a second win. Will Rob run more of the bench - personally I hope not because if the atmosphere gets any flatter it'll be like pancake Sunday.

Well looks like Sheffield must have been on a half day given that 2nd half scoreline. Glad to see Manchester get their first win at home.
Looks like London are letting Leicester walk all over them as well. Only Caledonia vs Cheshire looks like a competitive game.

Actually, for much of the game (certainly the first half) the game was pretty even but we established our dominance in the second half with excellent defence. No Jordan Taylor for Lions so perhaps carrying an injury?

Far from being flat the atmosphere was great at the game. Crowd behind the team, excellent commentary and all round feelgood factor. Think anyone who visited for the first time will want to return. Riders really play for each other and their unselfishness is paying dividends. Tbh, the SLB is so much better all round now there are several teams that could win it. This trophy isn't a foregone conclusion by any means.

Lions with import slots still to fill, definitely atleast 1. It seems they are keeping it open in the hope the League can sort something with Dekker. Such a shame that a player of his calibre and profile is unable to suit up. Its where I find the salary cap restrictive. Maybe a new rule to include from next season could be the highest import salary also does not count towards the salary cap? Along with highest british players salary that is already in place. One good import would not swing a team enough to dominate, but would allow teams to bring in a higher calibre/profile of player if they wish.
Lions seems to have used the Trophy purely to gel, which you can understand. Lots of minutes for the young brits.

Or, rather than pay dekker 1.5 million this year, pay 3 British guys 500k

Hope Lions do improve. Must admit I am already looking at the Riders fixture list and I am concerned about the competitiveness (probably mean because of own personal circumstance its December before I go watch a game). The teams in the South look a lot weaker as it stands.
Riders appear to have done this process of not overly gambling while the Lions were in town but then have spent more this winter. However, the crowds etc need to improve and it looks a risk.
Just want a really competitive competition (or rivalry to develop).

As said above, I wouldn't look into London's results to much at the moment. They barely had a preseason, and used the Trophy for that instead. Rai only 70% fit, Jordan Taylor injured and the rest of the team still very much gelling. Would not be surprised if they made a couple of changes now also. They will finish in the top 3. As a whole I feel the rest of the league can challenge Leicester. Newcastle look strong and well balanced, Cheshire also look great. Caledonia have a good squad, but until they get a good coach they wont fulfill their full potential. IF they replaced him a couple of seasons ago then they would be the ones to beat by now.
