It's a real shame for the lad not being able to play. I hope 777's largesse doesn't stop a European club coming in for him.

Sam Dekker was sitting courtside at the Copper Box tonight.
I’d love to know what the asking price they’ve put on him… are they looking to recover all or just some of what they’re paying him. The longer he remains on the shelf the lower the asking price will probably be, better to get some of your money back than none of it. Meanwhile I do feel sorry for him personally with the position he’s found himself in.

It's ashame that 777 have essentially wrecked this guys shot at having a career as a player in basketball. Makes you hope that 777 are eventually crucified by him, British basketball and which ever other organisations are unfortunate enought to be ruined by such a despicable group of con artists.

He could always tear up his very generous contract like all the other Lions players who were supposed to be on multi year contracts. He doesn't have to sit around not playing and if it ruins his career he only has himself to blame.

Must be horrible to be paid over a million pound a year to not play, my heart bleeds for the guy

It might not be the nicest situation for him, but he's essentially choosing his lifestyle and finances over playing basketball. Whatever he chooses to do, I have no problem with but let's not make this in to a sob story. He's essentially being paid large sums of money not to work, I'd swap with him.
